Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Regarding ArtsEd - DD is in her first year at ArtsEd and she says in her view everyone is a good singer/actor - good technique - and can take direction. But they are all shapes and sizes, all ethnicities, all ages and include some very strong and versatile dancers. At 18 she is one of the youngest ...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Ok thanks…. and the million dollar question, anyone know what they are after this year? All we’ve heard is they like older, is this true?? My DD will be 18 and looks young 🤦‍♀️ My DD auditioned during half term. A cut at 1pm then again at about 5 with just a few recalled for interview. She received...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

DS has yet to do his but from what I’ve heard it’s a cut at lunchtime then after the afternoon session you might stay for an interview. Results seem to be about two weeks after that. Hope that helps! And yes sounds terrifying!

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Losing the will with Arts Ed! Just had an email of cancelled audition tomorrow due to tube strike. DS already on train, money lost, too late to cancel hotel and this is the 3rd reschedule now - original audition booked for beginning of December! They have dropped right to the bottom of my list! Was...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

I think the most frustrating thing is 5/6 of the drama school auditions ds has done have been zoom/self-tape which doesn’t let them get a feel for the school or indeed I feel doesn’t always let them show the school what they can really do. I just hope next year they return to being in person.

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Congratulations to all the ds and dds who have secured themselves a place! Hurrah! Still waiting here and really thinking that it might be a case of applying again next year to a larger range of places. As Harry2003 says there often doesn’t seem to be a great deal of rhyme nor reason to which school...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Really sound advice @amo185-Just need to remind DS that a rejection is not (always) a reflection on ability. It certainly knocks the confidence and I will be glad when this is all over! Wether it’s over with an offer remains to be seen but then that’s the price for DS applying to so few and the ones...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Is anyone still waiting for an audition date for ArtsEd? DD applied before Christmas and she chased in the new year when she was told they were waiting and seeing what was happening over Covid. She chased a few weeks ago and followed up with phone calls (answer machine) but still heard nothing. Jus...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Yay to the offers coming in already! Fantastic news! DS still isn't happy with monologues so hasn’t actually applied anywhere yet which is making me nervous-just want to get the ball rolling!

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

tracyelwell absolutely agree, wish he would cast net further but he has researched the courses forensically and they are the only ones he’s interested in-he’s more of a actor/singer who can dance when he’s forced to so is applying for a couple of MT and a couple of straight acting. I don’t think the...
