Re: Auditioning for 2016
So having resigned herself to the gap year scenario, DD has been offered a place at Central for the Acting with MT Course. She had been on the reserve list, so sometimes miracles do happen!
She's over the moon, as she had really given up all hope.

Re: Auditioning for 2016
GSA now have a minimum grade requirement for entry to their courses. I know of one student who was accepted on the Acting Course, and unfortunately failed to get the grades that they had asked for. GSA would not accept him. Very harsh. Some might say, fair enough, he didn't get the grades, but perso...

Re: Auditioning for 2016
I think that people have been wary this year about applying to GSA.
Wonder if they may bump some up from the MT Foundation Course? Then again, I suppose that would mean losing money, since the Foundation is not funded.

Re: Drama Schools - 2017
Lyndahill, Could I ask if that was for this year's intake? I understood that they took 14 per year. My daughter was shortlisted, and then put on the waiting list. Hoping against hope that somebody would drop out. E mailed them this morning, but they have said that everybody has accepted theie places...

Re: Auditioning for 2016
Feel your pain. My D is on 3 reserve lists!
One of them has "very few" people on it. Hoping like mad for a positive result.

BOV Reserve list
So my daughter has now been moved from the shortlist to the reserve list at BOV. At least she's not been rejected. The big question is , does anybody know how long the Reserve list is? This process is just so frustrating. She is on two other reserve lists, and the waiting is just so stressful. Send ...

Re: National Youth Theatre
I must admit I find the whole NYT thing confusing. My daughter auditioned in Manchester right at the end of the process. She is on the Reserve List for the August course. She hoped that she might be given a place. So far nothing. I have contacted them few times, since we are trying to organise holid...

Re: What to do at 16?
Apart from GSA, who can, if they choose place high conditional grades on their offers, I think that the majority of schools are happy to accept the BTEC qualification. I don't think they choose their students on their qualifications. If you son wants to try for straight acting, it is unlikely, thoug...
Re: E15
Foundation course is one of the few to be funded, and I would recommend it.
Have been less impressed with the way in which the Foundation students were auditioned for the full time 3yr BA Course, especially when compared with the audition process for anybody else applying from outside.

Re: Auditioning for 2016
My D has just found out that she is on the Reseve list for Central, Acting with MT course.
Does anyone have any experience of this? How these lists operate, and what the chances are of eventually getting in?
All the waiting is so frustrating!

Re: Auditioning for 2016
I really don't know the answers to these questions, and am thinking that maybe we should have asked theses questions.
The 'foundation' course at East 15 is actually a Cert HE qualification. Could it be something to do with that?

Re: Auditioning for 2016
I can confirm that there is definitely funding available for the East 15 foundation.
I can recommend the course BUT it does not guarantee acceptance on to the 3 yr BA course.
