Re: Km casting call

I applied to London for dd before the Manchester one came up, and now I'm thinking dd won't be considered for the London one, but we can't make the 11th so all hope is on 4th for us. DD has auditioned for Kerrie quite a few times and got call backs for most of them. She also did a two day workshop s...

Re: 16 year old - Out of licensing - any time limits on set?

It is quite ridiculous sometimes. A few years ago my dd was in a play where another cast member was actually a member of staff at the theatre where the show was being performed yet as he was only 17 we had to be escorted to the toilets!

Our local theatres insist that they are chaperoned until 18.

Re: Request for permission for possible time off

I would wait and see if he gets a recall or is offered the part. There is plenty of time after summer for them to sort out licences. If they ask you at the audition then you should just tell them that he is starting a new school after the holidays so will ask then.

Re: Steven Spielberg self tape that was advertised

My dd doesn't like self tape either. She much prefers the interaction you get face to face. Then the Cd can ask for it to be done a certain way, redone with different emotions etc. She once got cast as an understudy for an advert and the girl who got the role was very extravert and really stood out ...

Re: Alphabet Kidz, Abacus, Theatre Workshop or Shana Goldman

Some children work very regularly, in decent roles with great exposure but as they are not soaps or block buster films the child is not considered 'famous'. My dd for one has always been busy since she started acting 5 years ago but most people would not recognise her face or name even though she to...

film V stage

DD is in White Christmas this week and we watched the film last night. We were both in agreement that we preferred the stage version and it got me thinking about other productions that have a film and stage version. In this case the stage version was written after the success of the film, where as o...

Re: Tell me some thing about the movie Ben-Hur

We should all write a sentence, based on another film/show, like those pictures you used to draw as a child, where one draws a head, folds the paper over and passes it on for someone else to draw the body, then repeat with the legs. Here's the opening line: The Part of Ben was portrayed brilliantly ...

Re: Aj Management

There is no guarantee that even if your child gets accepted that you will get castings. They may put your DCs name forward but that doesn't mean they will get an audition - it is a regular misconception that having an agent means regular castings. I know people who have been with an excellent agenci...

Re: sylvia young full time school offer

On this site PMs stay in your outbox until the person you have sent it to reads it, this confuses a lot of people. On a normal e-mail account if it is in your outbox it means it hasn't gone.

Re: Monologues

Although its not monologues, I agree with Welsh Mum, sometimes my dd gets an audition piece for self tape and there is no back story or clue about the character other that what is in the 2 or 3 pages.
