Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Any updates from you all, particularly the brave re-applicants? My DS is coming home from GSA tomorrow having had a wonderful term, and I know it's UCAS submission time and am remembering this time last year. Wishing all the DC lots of luck.

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

@Hilltop, by 'professional qualification' do you mean a diploma instead of a degree? I'm not an expert but I would think going for a reputable foundation with the aim of a really good school for degree afterwards might be a safer bet. But that's just my feeling. I don't know enough about diplomas, a...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Acting - through song is very good - singing, dance. She’s concentrating on Foundations this time, but I think she should apply for BA too So GSA is right up her street. Would she look at Mountview Foundation/degree, or does the cost rule it out? (It did for us!). Have a look at Urdang. They are tr...

Says it all.
Although a friend went to Grease and said there were 2 from Chichester in the cast and they were excellent!

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

@K8 if you had to rank her 3 skills (acting, singing, dance), what order what you put them in? Just trying to think where might suit! Acting - through song is very good - singing, dance. Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Well here I am again! I thought I’d finished and decisions had been made. DD auditioned last year after doing a BTech at a performing arts 6th form, she was late in applying and I don’t think that helped. She got two offers ICT Brighton, which she didn’t like so much and Chichester. She had gone fo...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Anyone starting degree apps? Torn in our house as to try and do any this side of Xmas or wait till after. I would say to stagger your applications. Some of them may ask for self tapes, and you don't want to be doing several of those at once in a short time frame and having the quality suffer. Any a...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Well it’s done. She thought it went well and she performed her best, but she didn’t get an interview. They specifically said that doesn’t mean it’s a no, but she is convinced it does and is gutted. Urgh! Sorry to hear your DD didn't get an interview. It's such a tough world to put yourself into at ...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

@MT East. Break a leg to your DD for tomorrow. A friend's DD is at EDA today for a 6th form audition and although they were asked to prepare 2 songs they've only done one. Just so your DD is forewarned that this may happen - be ready to choose just one if necessary.

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Ooo I think it’s a viable option transport wise, and they have host families! Will definitely consider this. Thank you. All I would say is not to expect the same intensity of MT training that you would get from eg Emil Dale. It worked well for DS as we couldn't afford anything fee-paying, and he wa...

I'm a veteran of last year's thread (DS now at GSA doing BA Acting and very happy) but I wanted to hop onto this thread, firstly to wish all of you and your DC the very best for what can be an exciting, terrifying, painful and unpredictable journey, and secondly to say @MTEast that if your DD's app...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Congratulations to your DD lotsalaffs! That's such great news that she went straight into a national tour and now has panto work lined up. GSA is certainly having a lot of success at the moment. I hope she continues to be in demand!
