Re: Times article - MT degree fees challenge
When DS was at Arts Ed there was certainly no part of the fees that were "optional"- you paid through the nose and that was that. Having said that, the difference between a standard degree course in terms of contact hours is hugely different. I know some people at uni at the moment who ha...

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018
Congratulations to your DS Sherbert. The wait was worthwhile and you must be over the moon! Wishing lots of luck and love to those on reserve lists. It is so hard but everything will work itself out and your DC's will end up at the best place for them even if they have to wait a year or accept a pla...

Re: London Studio Centre
Hi My dd was offered a place last year without a recall and the deposit was 500.00 I phoned and was told it was not refundable. Dd still had 5 auditions to go at the time so we didnt really want to pay it until she haf all her offers so she opted to go to the recall. It just gave us a bit of breathi...

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018
Well done to your dd islandsofsoda. An offer is an offer even though it was not quite what she was expecting. And good luck for the recalls! Xxx

Re: DDE qualification
Thank you for all of your replies. It looks like DDs college may be able to offer tap as well now so I think DD will go for it. Once she's got the qualification she can always use it as a back up and it's so tough to get regular work i think it could come in quite handy. Plus I'm increasing my hours...

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018
Thanks. still nothing from GSA despite a chasing e-mail and an audition 6 weeks ago. Does anyone know anyone who has been offered a recall? We're assuming they've just lost her and the rejection will arrive at some stage, it seems unlikely that they'd forget to recall someone. 2 years ago my friend...

Re: DDE qualification
From what I understand if you want to enter students for exams you have to have the DDI/DDE in the individual genres. I know people who have struggled to finance this after leaving college. I used to employ non syllabus dance teachers & found that those who had this qualification were generally...

Hi katymacKatymac wrote:What new DDE
Apparently the ISTD are changing their teaching qualifications from the existing DDI and DDE to one qualification which is the new DDE. I found something about it on the ISTD website but I had to really search for it and I cannot copy the link over.

DDE qualification
Hi NAPM'ers. I'm looking for some advice re the new ISTD DDE qualification. DD's college are offering the new DDE for modern and ballet. However the cost is pretty steep at around £3k for modern. My dd hoped to do modern and tap but the college aren't offering tap at the moment. I understand that th...

Re: mountview advice needed
http://notapushymum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=21504 Hi. I'm not sure if the link above works but there is an old thread regarding Mountview auditions and what to wear. I think it is under training so if it doesn't work then you should be able to scroll back. My dd never auditioned at Mountview but w...

Re: Performers College Degree Course
Popular and cheap? Not really what the criteria should be for where one sends DC to train. Hi Chivers61. It certainly isn't cheap, I do not know of any degree that is. However it is affordable, and unfortunately affordability does play a part in decision making for most people, it certainly did for...
