Re: Sheet music/Piano notes for Sparkle and shine from Nativity

You can get the piano accompaniment on sheetmusicplus but that's probably not what you are looking for. My guess is that's its not actually available in a simple melodic piano version at the moment. I did a quick search but couldn't find anything else.

Re: Travelling from outside of London

We are in the same part of the country as you and also regularly head to London. My DD is now at secondary school and so a little older than your son. However we have managed to keep everyone happy in the past by limiting castings to tv/film/theatre which are usually planned at least a few days in a...

Re: Which agency Daisy&Dukes, Madfish, TTA, CS management, Hero

I think there will be plenty of people out there with both positive and negative experiences of all the agents mentioned. I honestly believe you should meet an agent which enables you to get a proper feel for the kind of relationship you may be expecting to have. You are quite specific about what ty...

Re: How to tell your agent you’re leaving?

They may need to know where you are going if there are any ends left to tie up. For example my DD has a repeat contract which requires her current agent to pass back commission to her previous agent. Otherwise I think most agents will release you fairly quickly after any outstanding payment has been...

Re: Help appreciated - photo advice

I'd ask your agent which they feel is more suitable to represent your daughter. Professional head shots are usually preferred I think.

Re: Rates of Pay

I'm not sure there are specific industry standards. A few years ago equity were discussing developing a minimum child's wage but I can't find anything now to say that happened. They suggested at least 50% of an adult wage at that time. It will depend on the type of production and who is doing the hi...

Re: The Voice Kids

My daughter did it 2 years ago so not sure if it's changed. But first of all they audition on their own in front of 2 casting team members who decide if they will progress any further. No other children. If they progress they then had to perform again to 2 different casting team members who also fil...

Re: The Voice Kids

They were all over the UK the first year, but I'm not sure about last year. I have to say haven't seen it advertised in quite the same way as when it first launched. The first time my daughter auditioned in August first round and London recalls were in October half term. I'm not sure about last year.

Re: The Voice Kids

If it is a first round audition they definitely had more than 1 day previously. It's worth asking. At worst they can say no!

Re: Does performing professionally as a child affect your chances of becoming a performer as an adult?

I don't think it will make any difference - other than perhaps they are very used to auditions, rejection and they maybe have a slightly better understanding of what they may be letting themselves in for! For a rare few a career as a child/teenager may lead into adulthood but most actors don't start...

Re: Braces

So appointment attended today... Train track style braces on tops and bottoms but on the backs of teeth so can't be seen.. Was the cheapest of the invisible options, but still very expensive  apparently may be able to claim tax back as she definitely needs braces, and as she has a track recor...

Re: Braces

My daughter has her appointment with orthodontist today. On both her agent and drama teachers recommendation we are opting for invisalign as they have said it would practically stop her for 18 months. Not cheap, but she has made great strides forward in the last 12 months and I'd hate to see her set...

Re: Allsorts or Top Talent?

Personally I would never sign with an agent who had not met my child and had a taste of what they can do. How will they know what to submit them for, unless it's only for photographic work? That smacks of 'take any child' and hope they make us some money? I may be wrong and I don't have any personal...

Re: Other forums

I think so many casting teams ask you not to discuss auditions and we have had to sign non disclosure documents as well recently. It becomes difficult for people to share. There also haven't been many open auditions for major film/theatre other than MT recently and so not the number of people involv...
