Word of warning to those auditioning next year for Urdang - read your email received after the first audition VERY carefully. Dd2's email said this: 'Congratulations! You have successfully passed the first round audition and you have a place at the Urdang Academy for September 2016! You are now invi...

She finishes her Foundation course this year and plans to join a local youth theatre company. Dd2 has...

Re: Auditioning for 2016
I think those selected for the Scholarship at Performers will be considered for DaDAs - or both. My dd is attending at 1.30pm for registration but unsure if there are also auditions in the morning?

Dd2 has a place at Bodyworks, Millennium, Urdang, Bird, Laine and Performers but will depend on funding where she will go.

Re: Auditioning for 2016
Dd2 got a letter from Bird offering her a place but no funding. If she accepts the place the letter said she would go on the waiting list for funding. She certainly can't go without funding so what have others done in this situation? Is a funded place possible (she applied for the Diploma)?

Dd2 got an email from Millennium today with an offer of a place on the 3 year Diploma course so 2 offers so far
Good luck to everyone - bit mixed in our house as dd2 has offers and dd1 hasn't yet but still more auditions to go for them both.

Re: Auditioning for 2016
For Millennium, dd said be prepared to do scales. The monologue and song are done in front of 1 person. In dance there is a ballet class - dd thinks they look for technique but if technique isn't strong, smile :) For contemporary focus on breath and release (catch and release) and for jazz, just per...

Re: Auditioning for 2016
Dd2''s letter arrived today confirming the offer of a place and wanting a reserve fee of £75 to keep the place before April 25th. The DAda audition isn't until May. She still has 6 audition to go. Is it best to pay it or hold fire until closer to the deadline? I knew the audition process was expensi...
