Re: 16-17 oyster card - London

We didn't have any problems either, we are in Buckinghamshire and the address wasn't an issue! Maybe because we still have the tube out here.

Once you do get it sorted it was very quick, we got dd's within a week.

Re: September 2015

Hi ajbew, I was told by another mum that they don't have any in stock so need to order them.
Probably best if she rings the Covent Garden store to order x

Thanks carriecrafts, taking a trip up to Covent Garden tomorrow so will get the specific items they have said we need and then will get the rest on line!!

The New Yorkers they have specified are like £60 too!!! Why couldn't they pick a cheaper one!

Re: Life after MT courses. Any success stories?

Haha Jomist! I did a cruise back in my youth and I swore I never wanted to see another feather again!!
We had the hugest feather head gear you can imagine and I'm only 5ft 2. I nearly toppled over a few times ;)

Re: Life after MT courses. Any success stories?

Cruise ships are no longer feathers, boobs and bums!!!! as they used to be 25 years ago but most cruises nowadays put on huge productions and full musicals.
What a fantastic way to see the world and get paid for it!!

Re: What to do at 16?

Hi Lynne, the dance solo can be any style of her choice.

You can't get a dada for the Foundation course, dada's are only for the 3 year diploma.

Re: What to do at 16?

The only college that my dd went for that you had to prepare a solo dance was Laines, all the others and also Laines you do a ballet class, a jazz class where you are taught a routine. You also have to prepare a solo song and a monologue. Most also interview them and also a physio checks out their ph...

Re: What to do at 16?

The dada scales have changed for Sept 2015 which has been really good for us, the top cut off is now £90,000 before it was £70,000 so things may change again!

Also alot of the colleges do internal funding/scholarships so don't rule out anywhere as this could be a possibility.

Re: What to do at 16?

Hi Lynne, my dd is going to Urdang and was lucky enough to be offered a dada! We are only 40 mins out of London so she will be commuting every day. We have 2 sons at Uni so without the funding it would have been very difficult. 2dancersmum is right in saying that at all the auditions you are require...

Re: What to do at 16?

Hi Lynne, my dd has just auditioned at 16. We didn't audition for foundation we just went straight for diploma. I think if you're not ready for the 3 year diploma then the colleges would possibly offer you the foundation course. Your dd needs to decide if she feels ready to audition and have a go at...
