Re: Spirit or Stagebox ?
Thanks ACookie you got in before me! We also went for MXM for same reason and I was really impressed at how fair it all is. Everyone gets the same weekly training and opportunities and yes there are a few solos at the concert but everyone has their chance to shine. Really happy with it-high quality ...

Re: Asking for small donations after all these years.
Happily donated and I really hope those that can give just a little bit not just because it’s a great cause but also to say thank you-let’s face it so many of us use this forum as our go to for help and support so it’s time to give ‘admin’ some help and support! I know what’s it’s like to do a unpai...

Re: EDSA (Emil Dale) Cambridge - any good?
Personally I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about Emile Dale and the graduate destinations are impressive! I know there are a few very happy parents of Emile kids on this forum who I’m sure can tell you more! I can also highly recommend MXM in London if she wants to try an audition only weekend...

Will also be keeping an eye out! DS wants to audition for Arts Ed sixth form. He also wants to study Alevel History so choices are rather narrow!

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019
Thanks lotsolaffs yes I did but of course it’s the same day we have tickets to see Romesh Ranganathan. Urgh. Will just have to see what we can fit in! Do they announce the timetable much nearer the time?

Re: auditions monologue
The National Theatre Connections books have a good range of contemporary monologues by new playwrights.

Cookycrew I am totally distracted by the fact you seem to have a dancing Santa (hamster?!) next to your name. Marvellous!

Re: 'Best fit' schools/colleges post 18?
Couldn’t agree more-certainly wasn’t meaning academic meaning Alevel achievement, I was more meaning study and understanding. I guess the term academic can be interpreted differently, I certainly don’t think only kids capable of Alevels can be actors or that Alevel achievement is a measure of intell...

Re: 'Best fit' schools/colleges post 18?
Just to be devils advocate-sometimes academic study can only help in understanding texts don’t you think? An understanding of the history and politics of the time for example might benefit a student when trying to portray a particular characters emotion? I don't think it's a co-incidence that some o...

Re: Musical Theatre Btec
Starford on Avon has a college that does a range of MT Btecs I believe-not sure how far away that is for you. And don’t know how good they are with SEN.

Re: A levels alongside Musical Theatre Btech
Thanks ajbew, I’ll be showing all these wonderful replies to my DS! It’s great to know that being at a vocational school for sixth form certainly isn’t a prerequisite for a good MT degree entry.
