Re: Daisy & Dukes and CS Management
D&D are a larger agency with an emphasis on stills, extras work I'm not sure why you say this. A few of my friends' children are with D&D and they get acting auditions - quite a few have had good parts, though obviously that's not down to the agency. See their FB page: https://www.facebook....

Re: Daisy & Dukes and CS Management
I know of lots of people who are very happy with D&D. Don't know anything about CS.

Discounted tickets to Move It 2016
Thought some on here might be interested in entrance-only tickets (no classes - no idea how you book those) for £10, rather than £19. Book by midnight on 10 March: http://www.timeout.com/london/shop/health-and-beauty-move-it-2016?refid=email-move-it&~OF~1400822821~health-and-beauty-move-it-2016~...

Paulears, please don't leave - many of us appreciate your informed views. Such a contrast to my own utterly uninformed attempts to help - or at least not hinder - my DS's choice of a world I know nothing about.

DS was seen for the workshopping stage of this - casting director then (and I'm sure now) was Julia Horan.

Re: National Youth Theatre
DS got in first time. We're outside London too - only a little way but too far to commute daily to Greenwich for two weeks - and although the accommodation (in uni halls) is optional, and no meals are provided, DS was in a flat of five boys and had a fabulous time. He said he wouldn't have enjoyed i...

Thank you, riverdancefan. I don't suppose it would be possible to ask him some quite specific questions? I could PM you my email address to pass on, for him or a parent to get in touch if they're willing.

If anyone knows anyone with experience of this, I'd be really grateful if you'd get in touch - or even if you know anyone who's not on here but wouldn't mind emailing.

Kerrie Mailey might do this. Here's a link to a thread from here: http://notapushymum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=21352&p=232267&hilit=kerrie+mailey#p232267 Also, I'm a little surprised and worried to hear your son is struggling with this after having done a 3-year acting course - I'm...

Re: National Youth Theatre
DS did this last year - thoroughly enjoyed the day, but I didn't get much out of him. He had to prepare a monologue. The morning was a group improvisation and in the afternoon he did his monologue (to a panel rather than the whole group, I think) and had an interview. He said everyone else at his au...

Sorry to hear your DD is having a rough time, Millet. I don't know whether or not this will be at all helpful for you/her to know, but when DS applied to the NYMT three years ago, the recalls were specific to not just a show but a part, so it might not be that she didn't ' do well enough'. Best wish...

Re: Audition Songs!!
If anyone lives in Hertfordshire, there is an amazing Performing Arts Library in Welwyn Garden City, with sheet music/score from pretty much any musical that you can take out on your library card...they also have playscripts, monologues etc...we have spent many an hour or two there with DD sitting ...

Re: Guildhall Junior Drama on Saturdays
Thanks, Livy2, that's really helpful. I've applied and it says he'll be invited to a trial session later this term. He's fine with being committed - it sounds as if he wouldn't want to miss it anyway, and we don't tend to go away in termtime. Best of luck to your daughter - I follow the 'auditioning...

Does anyone had experience of this? DS would be applying this term to join from September, when he'll be going into Year 10.
