Drama school
I hope that I can offer some support for all you parents and students out there who haven’t had the news you wanted this year and maybe this is your 2nd or 3rd year of trying. It’s so hard to keep watching your child fail and then watch as they pick themselves up, dust themselves off and try and get...

Re: Funding the future - Straight Acting
Hi Lawn, My DS was extremely picky about only wanting to go to one of the top straight schools and didn't want to even try for a school that offered MT and straight combined. He also had a few US ones on his list but there is no point even looking at those until we complete this year. Mountview is a...

Re: Final Recall round at LAMDA
Hi Allarts, I think you did exactly the right thing and if I could have persuaded DS to audition at ArtsEd and Mountview I would have, but he was set on straight acting and both of those schools have great MT courses as well as straight. He was single minded in his audition list although he did revi...

Re: Final Recall round at LAMDA
Hi there Lawn No he didn't do a foundation and that was deliberate. The top 8 schools are very different in their training methods actually and after talking to lots of people he decided he didn't want to end up with a foundation course for one school and then he would be unattractive to the others ...

Re: LAMDA 2nd 1st Audition
Congratulations on the 2nd 1st audition. It means that they are liking you but a bit unsure. Do your strongest monologue and add a new one, so if your contemporary was your strongest, do that again but change your shakespeare and vice versa. Act the song!!!!! act the song!!! I can't stress that enou...

Re: Spots/acne
My DD was 15 when the spots appeared, on her face mostly forehead and chin and very badly on her back and even a bit on her chest. It affected her confidence and the Dr prescribed lotion and antibiotics, this worked well for 3 months and then they all came back as her body adjusted. No topical treat...

Re: The how long between application and audition thread :)
Hi there, yes he was there all day Saturday. He also got told 10 days, but I know that no's are sent out very early, so was on the lookout. Interesting that they are still doing their first rounds but have 4 recall days scheduled and will make offers in 10 days. I couldn't figure it out. Makes more ...
