Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

That's super news Belledancer. We are hearing of so many getting full funding (which we are assuming are not DADAs but scholarships). Sounds like Betty Laine must have sold her family jewels! Well done to them all. What a lovely call to get at the end of the week! :)

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Thankyou dancelifemum! Hoping for less anxious weekends now! DADA form completed for Laine. I can't see any more funding decisions being made until April when the next cohort have their offers. We know some fantastic girls auditioning at the end of March. And then it'll depend on the scores from the...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

DD also got her Laine letter today. So now she has four great offers and is very happy. Two totally affordable as degrees with student loans (Urdang and Trinity Laban) and two which require some sort of funding (Arts Ed and Laine). I think it'll be Arts Ed for her but feels great to have options. Hu...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Well done to those with offers. Super news! Sounds like Laine has offered places to their top applicants (those who will definitely get funding). Maybe others will get offers but no funding or offers and a waiting list for funding. Or rejections of course. They still have half of their applicants to...

Re: Year 7 entry for Tring

There's a lot of information on the Ballet Forum (balletcoforum.com) about Tring and funding etc. I assume he's up for an MDS - full funding? Good luck to him. A great place to train! :)

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Dancelifemum - I believe Laine send letters rather than email so will take longer. It has been posted here that Betty has already offered a scholarship to one lad so I don't think it'll be long now people to hear especially as Laine are now receiving self tapes for the second group of candidates. Th...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Yes - you must do your financial research thoroughly. Arts Ed only attracts £6k loan plus maintenance. However it is also eligible for DADA funding and has numerous other scholarships and bursaries. That's why DD is holding onto other offers which attract full student loan in case she isn't one of t...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Thank you for the good wishes everyone. Arts Ed deposit now paid (fully refundable if she has to withdraw) and DADA declaration completed. Now a different kind of waiting...can we afford it?! DD is withdrawing her final application (Performers) but needs to keep hold of at least one other offer unti...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

DD was interviewed by the Head of Acting for Laine which was great for her as it was an area she wanted to ask questions about. However - we've had fantastic and unexpected news today following DD's Zoom recall for Arts Ed on Tuesday. She's had an email offering her a place on their BA Hons Degree/D...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

We're also waiting on Laine but would need funding. We're now not sure if we have to wait until the second round of auditions are completed until we hear anything and they don't start until the end of March. Someone had said dc should hear in about three weeks and it's nearly that now. Last year Bir...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Hi Moonfaery -DD got her offer on Jan 15th - it was so much earlier than we could have imagined. DD has had email exchanges with them. She'd be very happy to go there but wants to see if she gets her personal top choices. And that's all taking longer. Her place is still open and they'll email once t...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

We checked on UCAS a while back after DD's Urdang offer after the advice on here about not feeling pressured to accept an offer. You can't accept a conditional offer on UCAS until all your offers are in. Colleges have to offer by mid May (20th I think). If you've already got A level equivalent and t...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

I think different colleges have different expectations. DD emailed one thanking them asking for more time to decide as she was in the middle of auditions and another said they didn't expect offers to be accepted until all UCAS offers were given, but she still thanked them. Some demand a hefty deposi...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

That's just what I have said to my DD anastasia79 and I'm hoping colleges can allow that before final decisions are made. Happier times though! :)

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

That is such good news anastasia79! I'm so pleased for your dd - it makes such a difference once they have an offer and know they can go somewhere great to train! My dd cried when she got her first offer (even though it isn't her top choice). It's such a relief for them at such an anxious time. Well...
