This is all very interesting and helpful for us to make our audition decisions. Thank you all.

Re: lcm

Thank you both for your replies, that’s a shocking difference - just don’t understand how they can possibly compare.

Re: lcm

We attended the open day at LCM today. Really liked the university and the surrounding area. I hear good things about the musical theatre course there and graduates are getting jobs. My biggest concern is the number of contact hours. I know it’s a university and not a conservatoire but 12 contact ho...

Yes, recipient was a Tring lad (Jac Yarrow was also a Tring lad prior to Arts Ed).

Re: Btec extended diplomas

My DS will be doing an extended diploma in performing arts come September at our local college. It is absolutely the right choice for him as he is dyslexic and is just desperate to get out of school. If he does well he has the chance to get 3 grade A A’level Equivalents, something he would never sta...

Re: BA MUSICAL THEATRE COURSE FOR SEPT 2018

That’s great advice Rhymie thank you. They are all on my list! We have spoken about pure acting but he said he would miss singing too much, so the fact that there is alot of singing at BOV would be perfect.

Re: BA MUSICAL THEATRE COURSE FOR SEPT 2018

The entry year will be a whole lot of varying standards as the students have come from such diverse backgrounds. The talented students will always get a place somewhere, they may have to wait a year, they may have to do a foundation year, they may just get straight in with multiple offers. What matt...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Ah thanks guys! Unfortunately, this time was a no. But that’s Ok - it is his first knock back in anything and he has to realise that it’s how you deal with the tough stuff that counts. As a back up, he will have a local college extended BTech in performing arts, he can continue with his fabulous dra...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Thanks amo. Well I guess he is either an absolute yes or an absolute no! I hate the waiting (as I’m sure we all do) I just want to know so we can move on - I never really worry about it being a no, as I view it as just not the right place for him and there will be other places and other opportunitie...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

So, this waiting for audition results is killing me! My son had his audition for EDA 6th form almost 2 weeks ago and they did say results would be about 2 weeks. This is my second time at the rodeo as elder DS is currently at Tring but this seems harder this time around! I’m starting to feel quite n...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Thank you both for your replies. As they give out places as they audition I think it’s a good idea to audition early. I also think it takes a bit of pressure off if they get offered a place. We went to watch Sweeny Todd earlier in the year and my son decided then and there that it is the place for h...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on Emil Dale. DC auditioning for 6th form and it is his first choice. Would love to hear anyone’s experiences of audition or share any knowledge of actual attendance on the 6th form course. DC would have to live in academy approved accommodation and would love...

Re: When to apply to Tring Park?

I am sure there are students that don’t apply until the open day has been. Personally I would apply as soon as audition dates come out as they do get fully booked. The audition experience is vital regardless of whether you want to go to the school or not. The open days also get fully booked so book ...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019 - 6th Form

He has a BA MT offer at Trinity Laban and a recall next week at GSA so definitely one of those two xx He LOVED his foundation year at Mountview and is still slightly devastated not to be doing the BA there x Ah, very good offer and fingers crossed for GSA. Must be a blow not to be offered BA at MV ...
