Re: Drama Foundation Course

In our case ds is uncertain what he wants to study at uni and whether he wants to do MT afterwards. He really needs a gap year but would find it very difficult to get the training he needs living and working at home, not least because there is a limit to the dance classes he can access locally, and ...

Will probably have loads of questions once ds gets his AS levels out of the way and we have time to think about it. We've booked to go to surrey uni open day...

We are looking into the GSA foundation course as well dabdab. Thanks for that info oscar as very helpful. If you get a chance to reply, could you say whether the students live in regular uni accomodation and study alongside the degree students?

Re: West Side Story - on anywhere?

Thanks Ditzi. It looks fab but ds has AS levels starting in a week so we need performances later in the summer. I think I've found one by Stage Experience at York Opera House at the end of July but an Edinburgh Fringe one or a Manchester or a performing arts degree course one would trump that - anyo...

West Side Story - on anywhere?

Does anyone know of a production of West Side Story on somewhere over the summer? Local group or music theatre degree show etc One being taken to Edinburgh fringe would be perfect...... Ds possibly doing the choreography of a school production (very small stage) and looking to see how others have do...

Re: How much ballet per week?

When it comes down to it, she needs to know the steps they are given for the auditions and have a good technique. My feeling is she should have done Intermediate or at least know the syllabus well, to have the enough knowledge of the steps. Hopefully others on here may have better knowledge, alterna...

Re: The Voice

I'm so sorry she went out before we had a chance to vote for her Welsh Mum. Rita seems to make some strange decisions chosing untrained contestants over trained. I love Will.i.am's choices though, always interesting :)

Modelling while at university?

Ds has never tried to join an agency as we live too far from anywhere to be able to get him to castings. However he is a gorgeous looking young man now and I wondered if anyone has any experience of their dcs getting modelling work in university holidays? Is it feasible? Would any agents agree to ta...

Re: Spots/acne

Most GPs start by prescribing benzoyl peroxide, starting with 2.5% then when the skin tolerates it after a few weeks (it dries it and reddens it slightly as well), move the concentration to 5% then on to 10%. There is a supply problem with the various brands, off and on. Quinaderm is usually the che...
