Re: BA / Foundation MT courses Sept 18

DD turned down 3 year courses at other colleges for a foundation at Bird but got moved onto 3 year in first few days as was on reserve. We felt this was the college that suited her best and was more reputable

Re: Madd College

My daughter has just been offered a place on the 3 Year Professional Musical Theatre Diploma Course after auditioning yesterday. She is waiting to hear from Bodyworks and has another six auditions to do yet but a really great way to start off. I was just wondering if anyone has any info / thoughts ...

Re: Best time to audition for full time training

I would second that! Start researching as early as possible. The summer before auditioning I did a spreadsheet with all of the possible colleges, pros and con, student outcomes, showcases, cost, you name it and then we went through them one by one and she gave them a mark out of ten. We then picked...

Re: hearing from Bird

Does anybody know about how long it takes to hear after the Bird audition ? I know a couple of people did get offers on the day but am presuming there are more places offered than that ? Also does anyone have any experience of Bird as a place to train in general . Obviously it has a very good reput...

Re: Best time to audition for full time training

Hello everyone, My dd is hoping to audition for full time diploma/degree courses in MT for Sept 2019. We’re a bit confused about the best time to audition . Am I correct in thinking that places are given out soon after auditions take place ? If that’s the case , does that mean that those who auditi...

Re: foundation course housing benefit

A foundation course is not classed as higher education. Not sure about whether still entitled to CB as my DD was 18 anyway when we went through all this.

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018

Trinity is known for Dancing rather than Musical Theatre however we went to their open day last year and the MT students most certainly were not dancers. My DD did not audition in the end as worried may not be high enough standard for her as she is a dancer. They have amazing facilities at both buil...

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018

It's all a bit odd. My DS's Urdang email says "Congratulations you have a place" and you are invited for a funding recall. At this you will be assessed for funding for the diploma and (if you meet the academic criteria) for the degree. He auditioned early though, so maybe things have chan...

I spoke with them at Move it and they seemed very nice. Robbie Williams being one of his best friends is Patron and I lost interest when they could not guarantee me a meet and greet (joking!) x

Re: BA / Foundation MT courses Sept 18

I completely agree with what you are saying about % of those that make west end. Im sure like you say they have more chance in making the bulk of their money waitressing or something but we try to be sensible and DD taking her teaching qualifications too and once they have commitments like a house o...

Re: BA / Foundation MT courses Sept 18

DD turned down degree at less reputable colleges to do a foundation at Bird but luckily got moved onto degree in the first week. It is about where they would be happy but we always look to see where those in the West End Musicals have trained and you really dont see many from a Uni tbh. Housing bene...

Out of interest do you have to be over a certain age to be able to claim? (gathering info for the future)
Our friends daughter was 16 when she first started to receive it
