Re: Would you let your dd apply/go to vocational school if t
I think that's going to be difficult anyway as the senior school offers will go out in October but audition results from this school won't be until around Easter time. State schools give out offers on 1st march. Don't think we will get to play as we have a very busy 3 weeks with stagecoach summer de...

I wrote a reply to Riverdance yesterday and lost it. We don;t have to really decide just yet. She is going to the taster day on monday and really looking forward to it. She will get an offer (or not) at the senior school attached to her junior school in October but as they are going on the results o...

In my area the cp course is specific to chaperoning and also covers other things to do with chaperoning. We have to do it every 3 years.

Hmm might be worth thinking about though stone for us is probably harder than Chester. Dh works there now so she would commute with him IF and it is a big if, she got in he would get a staff discount. Compared to our local secondary with 42% at gcse academic results are good 60 odd % A-C but of cour...

Re: Can I have some advice please
Thanks all, Pg he told me he had three agents as one agent just wasnt enough to handle his talent!! He was only about my dds age  I dont think she is experienced enough to attempt agents yet, but definately going to look at open calls and local theatre. :D OMG That sounds so precocious and i...

She would have to commute as we couldn't afford boarding. It is about 45 mins each way, her current school is about 20-30 mins depending on traffic. They also do Saturday mornings there. Yes the school we assumed she would go to has a good Oxbridge track record - not sure whether she is that calibre...

Would you let your dd apply/go to vocational school if they
Dd is at the end of Year 5 and we have to apply to senior school in Spetember. She is going on a taster day at a vocational school with a view to applying. It looks fantastic, we would be eligible for a discount but it is a drama course and she would virtually have to give up her dance which she lov...

Re: Restrictions for unlicensed performers
Yes. The local authorities I have dealt with have been quite strict on that. One LA regularly inspects dance school and amateur shows where the 4 dAy licence free rule is being used

Re: The Voice
Dh was working in the Netherlands recently and had the pleasure of doing some vocal coaching with one of the kids voice contestants. She was fab, the standard was very high( I believe she has since been cast in a musical in a child's role that will open over there). My two listened to some YouTube c...

Re: Performing with breaking voice - tips anybody?
Sirening is a really good excercise. If you say the word sing holding the ng at the end then take it up and down like a police siren on a ng using as little breath as possible. You can then hear where the crack/break is and work on it by making sure your head and neck are long and allowing your soft...

Re: Anyone know anything about becoming an Event Singer ?
Most people I know who do this go through a specialist agency and indeed when my cousin hired a singer for her wedding she used a wedding/events agency.
