He got offered Salford on the spot but they also offered him another course as well and urged him to also consider that one (a more instrumental performance based course).
I'm fairly sure he is going to choose Leeds Conservatoire though.

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
She's in a house share at the moment and as you say it is per person per room. Also his commute would be bad from where she lives and her commute would be very tricky from where he needs to be.
He has a lot to think about.

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
The degree with foundation Year could be really good for him. There were several places he couldn't apply to this year because he only started playing his instrument aged 14 and some places want Grade 8. Ds has reached Grade 7 standard but with some technique issues he is working hard to address, lo...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
I know it’s music not not MT but after what seems like a really long wait Ds has been offered a place at Leeds Conservatoire. He’s been offered BAHons with Foundation Year. He’s already been offered BIMM, LCCM & Confetti on their 3 year courses and has an audition coming up at Salford he’s turne...

Re: Retaking 2nd year?
Unless there are some exceptional circumstances I doubt it would be allowed. My dd had dreadful mental health issues last year which along with covid meant she pretty much wrote the year off as a bad job. But she graduated and was not allowed to re-sit the year. We have had to pay for a postgrad to ...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
I’m not sure of the “justification” but the reasoning is that the government decided that students at private institutions are not eligible for the full loan, just a reduced amount, because they are private. What happens at some places like Bird & GSA is that the students enrol with the universi...

Re: Lesser known colleges
My daughter is at a lesser known college called Associated Studios. She went there after having spent 3 years at a well known dance school/college and it's the best decision she ever made. At the moment they only offer postgrad but I herd they will shortly be offering an undergraduate degree so one ...

Accreditation could mean by CDMT, or it could mean graduates are eligible for Spotlight & Equity membership.

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Hi. Could you help with a dilemma. MY DD has been offer a foundation place at Bird and a degree place at a non accredited college that has been around for about 10 years or so. Does she go for the secure easy option or is that place at Bird worth the risk when she would need to audition again next ...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
That’s because only Level 3 qualifications carry UCAS points. Adv 1 is Level 4 so equivalent to first year degree standard.

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Each institution has their own policy on whether ucas points have to come solely from academic qualifications or whether dance and music exams can be included.

Re: Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD)
That would make sense. Whereas dd had 8 years of vocational dance training alongside quite a bit of singing and only a small amount of acting. She wanted to improve her acting (and is doing so where she ended up) but that particular approach was not what she needed for her learning style. Whereas it...

Re: Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD)
Dd applied last year for postgrad Musical Theatre and had a recall. She didn’t get in but I think ultimately it wouldn’t have suited her. The recall was online and was quite tricky in her halls room. There was a LOT of improvisation, in fact the whole recall was improv from having to improv a dance ...
