Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
So,have read a couple of things about Urdang, and hoped I could get some clarification and honest replies here…. 1- that the final year is only 2 terms, then you choose whether or not to spend the 3rd term doing the showcase/shows etc….. 2- that if you do, that 3rd term is an extra cost….. 3- that,...

Re: AGENCY REPRESENTATION AT COLLEGE
Most colleges don't like their students to work professionally whilst in training as they would be using the school's name (in programmes, etc) without completing the full 3 years of training (from what I've heard). Obviously school's want their reputation to be good so wouldn't want their name to b...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
Hey guys! Coming on here again after a while and seeing everyone talking about money got me thinking! I'm going to Laines in September and my parents are paying for my tuition (which I am super grateful for) but not any of my living costs, travel costs, uniform costs etc. This means I'll need to get...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
Lovely to hear of more offers. DD's best friend is still waiting on her Urdang recall too. Three other girls have not yet turned down their offers there despite accepting elsewhere - so there must surely be more movement later too. Not sure of the deadline for turning down. Good luck to all! In my ...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
My dd still hasn’t heard after all these weeks whether Laine have received her re-submitted tape let alone watched it! She has emailed a number of times. I think it’s very rude to be honest. Have you tried calling? The admin aren't great tbh I emailed about a month ago but they never got back to me...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
Hi - this is my first post but I have been following the thread with great interest! After receiving her degree offer from Bird my DD was ‘absolutely certain’ that’s where she was going. She has since received an offer from Laine and it’s thrown a huge, unexpected spanner in the works. We’ve tried ...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
If anyone has any inside insights of laines it would be super helpful, I saw the ‘marmite’ comment and know that’s what DD is scared of, she’s having the Normal panic that she won’t fit in and will have a panic. She’s not a dancer which is why we went for laines as it seems to produce more than jus...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
Laine's can be a bit marmite. The training there is fantastic, very technical and Miss Laine loves her ballet but I think you have to be a certain personality to thrive there. That's what I thought tbh which is why I would have loved to visit :/ Personally I feel like Urdang values individuality mo...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
Hi! I'm a student going into training this September but I'm finding it so hard to decide between schools as I haven't been able to visit any except Urdang (I did their pre-audition course). :? I've got into London Studio Centre, Laines and Bird so far and am waiting to hear from Performers and I h...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
Great set of offers evie03. Might depend on whether dance or MT is the goal. Plus degree or diploma. Laine top up degree is not eligible for student finance so is an additional cost. Where are you at the moment and what do your teachers advise? They should know the colleges and be able to advise yo...
