Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

@K8t I think definitely don’t apply late but also not too early. So perhaps late Dec or early/mid Jan? I think the later auditions are more challenging. Places will have been handed out all along and perhaps not so many slots remaining, and they may have their fill of particular ‘types’. Did your DD...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

My DD has good news story about taking time out too. She auditioned 2 years ago, got several diploma offers from lower level colleges. Decided to stay in school and complete her education and try again this year. This year she applied to her top 6 colleges. She was thrilled to get 4 great degree of...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Started a new thread, but more traffic here.

Is anybody going to London Studio Centre and NOT staying in Chester House (which is full with very long waiting list already).
What other halls would you recommend?

Re: LSC accommodation - Chester House is full

Anybody have any experience of Wood Green Halls? It is on LSC list. And looks like it might still be taking bookings. At least, I was able to submit a booking... Anybody else going to London Studio Centre, and not staying in Chester House??? Yikes - it seemed I should have provisionally booked accom...

LSC accommodation - Chester House is full

Hello all DD is leaning towards LSC. I’m looking into accommodation. I made inquiries with Chester House, but they are full. They put DD on waiting list but advised it is unlikely she will get a place!! Bummer!!! We are looking at Axo Islington, which has a direct bus, but is very pricy. DD wants a ...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Thanks @lawn and @mygirlsloveMT That will get the list started. I am aware of the cost difference. For sure it is a consideration, but we could manage it. I have a strong preference, but DD needs to work it out and make and live with the decision herself. I am pushing her to do it soon, so we can mo...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Wilkes Vs London Studio Center Jazz pathway??
DD was sure it would be Wilkes. But loved audition at LSC.
She is struggling to decide between both offers.
2 fantastic offers, she knows she will love which ever she decides.

Any advice? Or thoughts about what to include on pros and cons comparison?

Re: Laines vs LSC

Which of the two did your daughter decide on?
My DD thought was sure Laine would be her preferred option of the two, but later had a really enjoyable audition day at LSC, and wouldn’t find it easy to choose now.

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

We stayed in Premier Inn Basildon. We used A&B taxis to get to Performers. I’m believe there is a bus that runs from close to hotel but it seemed to run once per hour. A&B have an app, and were very responsive. I think fare was around £7. Is you DD 18 or over? As hotel probably won’t accept ...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Yay, offer from Wilkes today. And such a lovely offer letter!!
So now decision time, Performers Vs Wilkes. She absolutely loved them both.
I guess time to do Pros and Cons. It will be a hard decision, and a very close call.

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

First rejection letter today, from Laine. She was was disappointed with herself on audition day, so was expecting a rejection letter. She is waiting to hear from Wilkes and Italia Conti. So far she has an offer that she is very happy with and Bird wait list. Just one audition remaining, LSC in mid M...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Wait listed for Bird. Better than a No, but she is not holding out much hope for it. If I remember correctly Bird wait list is very long and moves very slowly.

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Thanks for the good wishes for DD. She isn’t an experienced singer so she said her singing was horrendous, she had never sang with a cold previously. But she said it worked as an advantage for her drama 😊 She took it all in her stride. I thought she would be very disappointed as Bird is top of her l...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Oh dear, DD heading into Bird audition today, with a head cold. She feels ok, but lots of sniffles and sneezing. Singing will be a challenge.
Ah well, she can only try her best.
