Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Last year Bird sent their uniform list at the start of the summer holidays I think. It isn’t strict. They tend to wear black tights even for ballet. Leotards colour of their choice suitable style for ballet and for jazz. Bird hoodies they can buy once they start. The only thing they are quite specif...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Hello I was wondering if anyone could advise. I can’t find any league type tables for the dance colleges offering Trinity Diplomas, I briefly know of some colleges reputations but DDs teacher doesn’t have enough experience to be able to advise and has kept out of the process as never had a student ...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Does anyone have experience/ knowledge of bird? DD auditioned and got offered an unfunded place with reserve list funding, can anyone advise if this is likely to result in funding? 🤷🏽‍♀️ This is very common at bird. Unfortunately you need to be prepared for a long wait. Based on last year they will...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Good to hear everyone is settled and happy and ready to start their courses - all the very best of luck to them all doing what they have worked so very hard for! DD has loved Freshers week at Performers and they've really made an effort which has been nice and even included 2nd and 3rd years on the...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Hi all, jumping on post as my DD will be starting her auditions soon for next year's intake.......scary! I just wanted to ask do most people go to the open days? We are in Cornwall so to go to each of the schools she's interested in just for a morning or afternoon will be a bit of a nightmare, shou...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Just wanted to wish everyone a very happy next 3 years of training wherever they have gone study. Hope all of your children are settling in well - and you are all coping ok without them :( It’s not been an easy year to audition but I hope they get a better first year experience than last years first...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Hope they are settling well and the moving in went well.
We have 5 more days left. I’m not looking forward to it! It seems so early when most of her friends going to ‘normal’ uni still have a month left at home

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Hi, my DD is starting a degree at Mountview, but having difficulty getting a student bank account with Nationwide because Mountview does not have a UCAS reference. Anyone else come across this and found away round it? She chose Nationwide because she already banks with them. TIA Do you put the ucas...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Two girls from my daughter’s college were both offered diploma a few weeks ago after being on the degree waiting list. One accepted and one declined but both asked to stay on the list for degree after being told they were near the top. Neither of them have been offered degree yet so i don’t think th...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

I asked a similar question on here when daughter was going to do foundation and the replies were look at what they would be allowed as maximum student loan deduct rent and give what's left minus any wages/savings child has to supplement this. I think some parents would find this cost to bear though...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

That’s good to hear. We are totally new to this so if it works out cheaper I will be very pleased! We’ve said £500 per month is the maximum we can afford and it has to cover everything. Phone contract, pointe shoes, dance wear, normal clothes, food, any nights out and travel. Her student loan doesn’...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Hi everybody, looking for some consensus here I think. DS is off to Bird in September and we've been trying to work out how much to give him over and above his accommodation and bills. We've got to £535 a month to include food, replacement uniform, any other living costs, gym membership, train fare...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Just popping on to say hi to everyone and to see if you're all sorted / nearly sorted now for schools and accommodation for September. It's been one hell of an audition year and I really do hope that we've seen the worst of this pandemic and that all our DC's who have worked so hard and sacrificed ...
