Re: Mt sixth forms
Very sad to hear about this. My daughter had an excellent year at Read College. You are right @Harry2003 .This will not be the last college to flounder ( very much hoping that they might be thrown a lifeline!). Funding is being cut left, right and centre or access restricted. There will be pressure o...

Re: Colleges and their different focuses
Let's be honest, most performers will not get roles on the West End stage whether 'leads' or 'ensembles'. There are just not that many roles/ jobs available if you count them up and so I believe it's really important that colleges prepare their students for many types of performing job that the ind...

Completely agree with you @MTDreams .I'm really sad to hear that this has happened and can't understand why someone would do that. The industry is tough enough without that sort of behaviour .

Re: MTA confirms it's closing
£32K to train or £31k if you didn't need to pay in termly installments. How many of us can afford that in tuition fees alone and for those that can, they have probably spent the money at an earlier stage such as at a PA related private secondary school or sixth form, so by time child is 16/18 they'...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Hi, Does anyone have any experience with Drama Studio London in Grange Court London W5. My dd has been offered a place on the 1 year course in Acting and wondered how their training is and their productions as well as any work opportunities after the training. Do they easily get agent representatio...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
For anyone still on waiting lists or not sorted for MT training to start this year, theMTA hasn't filled all of their 22 spaces yet and will be auditioning in July and possibly August depending on availability. Auditions are free ( deposit returned on attendance). Superb 2 year training. Majority of...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
A bit inexperienced on here hope this works!! I have a question on the Urdang 'optional 3rd term' please if anyone can help - how exactly does it work for Y1 and Y2 for degree? Thinking about training, accommodation, agent (is it worth trying to keep them for work in that third term?), costs etc. T...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Just looking ahead to the 2023 audition cycle and thinking of choices, and how to make the best use of the next few months in terms of training. - top choices are RWCMD, GSA, Mountview but given how competitive they are to get in, we want to put some other good options down too, so considering whic...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
With no BA offers yet, considering quickly jumping onto foundation MT for a gap year and to support trying again next year. Any recommendations or ones to avoid? Also realise top ones may be filled already so considering places like Read College that specialise. Would love any insights, tia Read Co...

Re: Retaking 2nd year?
Sad to hear that and can't be easy for you either. I do hope that you get a sympathetic response from your college and can work something out. Could it just be a natural dip in the learning cycle? The last two years have been so messy for everyone. My DD has several friends who are in their second y...

If you're doing research on future training.....
there are still tickets available for tonight, Saturday matinee and evening performances for theMTA annual revue at the Bridewell theatre, London. £18 per ticket ( concessions available) . It's a great way to see what 18 months of training with a whole college production looks like. Tickets availabl...

Re: Pros & cons list to decide which college?
It's both lovey and tricky when you have to choose! The paradox of choice but what a great position to be in. I think the audition experience is quite important too, how did you feel and how did the auditioners make you feel? Also, look for 'proper' mental health provision and not just token 'wellbe...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Hi. Could you help with a dilemma. MY DD has been offer a foundation place at Bird and a degree place at a non accredited college that has been around for about 10 years or so. Does she go for the secure easy option or is that place at Bird worth the risk when she would need to audition again next ...
