Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
The frustration continues. It's been 3 weeks since my DD auditioned at Wilkes. She loved it and is now her top choice but still not heard back . She knows that rejections and wait list are done via e-mails and offers are by post , but she's had neither . I'm sure she was told 10 days for a decision...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Does anyone know if Performers ever offer a place without asking for an interview? They say getting an interview has no bearing on offers but everyone my DD knows had an interview before offered a place on the day and her friend was offered a place today after an interview. My DD was not offered an...

Re: HELP PLEASE
The whole industry and any college can make you feel this way it is very cut throat. My daughter went to performing arts college in London and university, she found the same as your daughter is experiencing in both places. Lecturers tell pupils they are 'sh8t' they are the wrong shape, too fat, too...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
My dd is in 3rd year at Wilkes and couldn’t rate it highly enough. She never auditioned at LSC due to the high fees so can’t speak on them, can never really understand why some colleges charge so much extra when you can get tuition from top colleges for more or less no extra charge (Wilkes do charge...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Not near the train station, it’s kind of in the middle of nowhere off the duel carriageway so I think it would be another taxi.

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Dd has an audition at performers in a couple of weeks. Originally a friend who was also auditioning on the same day was going to drive them both there but she has now had her date changed. Looking at public transport it seems to take about 2 hours from where dd is living (she’s on a foundation year...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Yay, offer from Wilkes today. And such a lovely offer letter!! So now decision time, Performers Vs Wilkes. She absolutely loved them both. I guess time to do Pros and Cons. It will be a hard decision, and a very close call. Fab news, my dd is in 3rd year at Wilkes and did Pre-Voc at Performers, bot...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
I agree that if you can’t choose between colleges on the course, and funding isn’t a factor, then look at location next. My dd did Pre-Voc at Performers and could walk to college, there are a lot of houses available in the village/town, but there isn’t much to do around there. There are shops so the...

Re: HELP PLEASE
Kind of in reply to jasmine2 but also to help Elysee69, my dd has found that whilst college don’t usually pick her for the dance numbers, she usually gets picked by outside people who come in to hold auditions, and college do pick dd if it’s for a musical theatre piece. All colleges will have their ...

Re: HELP PLEASE
My dd is in her 3rd year of a MT degree and constantly goes through this, as do her 3 house mates so I’m pretty sure more at college will be! She is at quite a dance based college and whilst she is an amazing dancer there are some phenomenal dancers there, but they can’t sing and act, whereas my dd ...

Re: Opportunities while in College - Favouritism
That is a shame, I’ve always found this site so useful and commented on this post as I felt it resonated with my dd. How sad that someone felt the need to do what they have done and well done for taking it down so swiftly.

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Thanks lotsolaffs, dd does love the sound of GSA, the rent/maintenance loan scenario worries me a bit but we’ll have to cross that bridge if/when she comes to it.

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Bit of advice needed if poss please. Just booked dd on GSA open day (can’t believe I’m starting this all over again) and wondered how long to give us to look round? Oldest dd’s open days were more or less full days with classes etc but GSA (as it’s part of a ‘normal’ Uni) doesn’t look like it runs ...
