Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Agree with you wholeheartedly, so glad it’s all working out for you both. I was asked last night by a friend whose dd is about to go through the process this year and I said it sounds cliched but there is a gut feeling and you and the college seem to choose each other. Hope your DV has a fabulous 3...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Just a quick update - my DD was/is on the Bird reserve list but has now started at The Arden Theatre School in Manchester. I have to say that the college DOES choose you - Arden wanted my DD 2 days after her audition, Bird's reserve list hardly moved this year. My DD is LOVING Arden, in college 9-5...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

I'm looking at all the different costs involved with BA degree compared to a foundation/gap year course. I understand there is no student loan for the course costs so this needs to be paid independently however how does it work with living costs can they claim housing benefit for example or has it ...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Hi all, Hope everyone is doing well and for anyone's DC I hope the settling in stage is going smoothly! Just an update for anyone still waiting to hear from Bird. DDs friend was told at the start of the summer that she was on the middle of the reserve for both diploma and degree and that it was unl...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Thanks Disco Dad and Littleone. It's been a horrible 4 weeks but fingers crossed he gets offers in 2 years time. He does a lot of dance, and goes to CAT so theoretically he will. Yes, I get him for 2 more years which is nice. I know how difficult it is for everybody on waiting lists so I feel quite...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Hi, can anybody help me here. DS is 16 and has a place on the diploma at Bird, but he's having some wobbles. His wobbles aren't about not doing MT but worries about whether he'll make friends at 16 and whether he'll be left out when everybody else goes out. He's very sociable (and tall) and has mos...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Just wondering if anyone had taken out medical insurance for their DD or DS whilst they’re at uni/college for Musical Theatre? Not even sure if there are policies for this, what they cover/cost etc! My DD starts in a few weeks time at MT college do just trying to think what she needs! Thanks in adva...

Re: Insurance

Medical insurance is a must. Quite a few girls at DDs school were having trouble with Nodes etc. It's expensive but at least I won't worry if she needs physio or any other help x Hi, just read your post about insurance! What type of policy did you get, how much was/is it and that sort of things doe...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

I do 7nderstand why a college would follow the 'reserve list' route and if it helps fill the maximum number of places then that is great but I fear it is starting to become part of the problem that is holding up the whole allocation process as well as causing issues for accommodation. There appears...

I just had to share my news. On Tuesday my son graduated with a Ba in Acting and yesterday my daughter was offered a place off the reserve list for the same course! I am so overjoyed and proud of both of them, don't mind admitting there were a few tears last night  I would like to thank everyo...

We are currently looking into accommodation at Italia Conti, before we start can anybody recommend or offer us any advice? It’s for the Central London academy x
I’ve sent you a pm, but says it’s in the outbox not the sent box, so not sure if it’s got to you or not! X
