Was she ok over the Christmas break ? I agree that speaking to the college Pastoral team would be a g...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Hi. Could you help with a dilemma. MY DD has been offer a foundation place at Bird and a degree place at a non accredited college that has been around for about 10 years or so. Does she go for the secure easy option or is that place at Bird worth the risk when she would need to audition again next ...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Our experience is based on this year - summer term is optional but most seem to opt in and there is a full timetable of show rehearsals together with classes in all genres that the students can sign up for on ...

Re: ACCOMODATION for 2021 intake

Hi My daughter - and several other Urdang students stayed at Liberty Living St John Street - Now called Walmsley studios since it was taken over by 'Unite' It was quiet, felt safe and is within easy walking distance to both Urdang Buildings and Islington ! Unfortunately it is not cheap ! Good luck a...

Re: Urdang

Hi My Dd is doing the BA at Urdang. I'll try to help but can't promise to be totally accurate ! Re Singing lessons , I think in first year all degree students have a one to one lesson in term 2 and that continues in 2nd year .. unless you choose the dance track when singing is in a group - they do s...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

It sounds like there are a lot of positives to the plan you describe Becmum ! Although I think my Daughter (who is primarily a dancer) might struggle to keep motivated without dance classes. At her college they are continuing with a timetable of online classes in all 'subjects' . I am hoping that th...

...I will also add that the 'Dream school' may change once your daughter has started the audition process (happened for us) so it might be best not to reduce her options too early :D

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Hi 2good2hurry My daughter auditioned 2 years ago and also applied for 6 colleges. We found that allowed her to 'cover the bases' as it were and that it was a manageable number. Of course with some being online this year it may be different as I would imagine that preparing video auditions can be ve...

Re: Offers at 18 compared to offers at 16

My Daughter applied at 16 just to one college which was more local to us. She was offered a place but decided she wanted to wait until 18 when she could audition for degree and would feel more ready to move further away . She continued at school and did A levels whilst continuing her dancing at her ...
