Re: A levels alongside Musical Theatre Btech

I don’t think Tring offers the BTEC, so may not fit your DS requirements. But also I would check if unis accept MT BTEC & Theatre Studies A level as 2 qualifications as there’d be a lot of overlap I imagine.

That’s so helpful, thank you. We’ll look at both those courses. How is your DD finding Italia Conti?

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Hi Rhymie, thanks for the good wishes. DD did a summer course at BOV, which has confirmed it In her favourites. Can I ask you about how your DD found the audition experience? Any tips to help or things to avoid?
Apart from ageing several years! :D

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Thanks Marissa, DD has drama performances every term so I’m hoping the school will advise on what’s a manageable number for her.
V impressed your DD managed 6! I think we’re looking at around half that

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

My DD had decided to hold off this year, but has changed her mind and is now narrowing down her previous 8 favourites into a more manageable group given that’s shes also studying for A levels As she’s only looking at straight drama Conservatoires, she knows the schools prefer candidates with a bit m...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Oh that’s so tough Jaybeeyellow, has your DC got another offer or are they trying again? They must be so good to have got that far, it must’ve been a real kick to not get an offer :(
DD did a summer course at BOV last month and really enjoyed it, so it’s definitely on her list.

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

DGtgerunner - thanks for posting the link to your blog, really interesting and very generous of you to share. I’ve just read it, and could I ask you about your advice to apply early? On the face if it that feels counter-intuitive as the later you leave it in the year, the better your skills would be...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Hi, DD is going into y13 and will be applying to straight drama schools this year. We know the acceptance stats are scarily low so all advice welcome.
