Re: Musical Theatre Btec
We did full time year ten and eleven. Finish at four every day and earlier on a Friday. Was very happy. The sixth form is much less hours for their pathway, usually around 12 hours, then you can add on A levels. My daughter was not wanting to do A levels, and 12 hours or so is just not enough. So we...

Can they work and claim? Is there a limit on how much they can earn? Finally if they come every weekend can they claim?

Re: Housing benefit for BTEC and Foundation 16-18
Aww congratulations. I assume Guildford not on universal credit. We can’t get past the first hurdle as the universal credit door slammed shut for us to claim.

Re: Housing benefit for BTEC and Foundation 16-18
Yes that’s what we were told. I wonder if we can appeal as you were eligible under housing benefit before UC.

Re: Housing benefit for BTEC and Foundation 16-18
You cannot get UC (below the age of 18) and thus housing benefit unless..... • your ability to work is limited by a disability or health condition • you are waiting for an assessment to see whether your ability to work is limited by a disability or health condition (and you have given us a fit note ...

Re: Housing benefit for BTEC and Foundation 16-18
Robin 64. Concerned now as BTEC course can be done locally, obviously less hours and quality, but surely so can pretty much all foundation degrees? Really need to get housing benefit as costs are spiralling.
Anyone had this hiccup?

Re: foundation course housing benefit
Just pondering between an intensive BTEC L3 and L6 Diploma course at two different institutions for my 16 year old. Would I be right in thinking only the former course would be eligible for HB?
The course costs alone for the diploma are eye watering! With no help for accommodation either?

Re: Leicester College Of Performing Arts
It is one we are considering. Saw work at Move It and looked good. Small and focussed groups and they did seem like a family. Some of teachers are the same as ones that go to Bird and other larger schools. Anyone else have feedback. I do know a few who have been and many seem to have been in work si...
