Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

My DD is just finishing her second year at Laine and she is absolutely thriving. She was definitely strongest at acting when she joined but I can quite safely her singing now blows my away. They are very keen on the integration between acting and song and both departments work together. As for dance...

Re: Best time to apply for Sept 2020

DD has done it twice so I can give feedback from her experience. First year she was studying A’levels and the general advice was audition for last choice first and early and then build confidence. If not in full time training audition early as all ‘foundies’ audition late. Unfortunately for dd she b...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Agree with you wholeheartedly, so glad it’s all working out for you both. I was asked last night by a friend whose dd is about to go through the process this year and I said it sounds cliched but there is a gut feeling and you and the college seem to choose each other. Hope your DV has a fabulous 3 ...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 straight actiing (Not MT)

Rose Bruford, Trinity, Oxford School of Drama, Manchester School of Theatre, LIPA, Bristol Old Vic and many many more. Good luck to your DC it’s an incredibly intense process and some of the recalls go on forever but very worthwhile if you’re lucky enough to obtain a place.

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Thank you all for your advice. It is the accommodation at Trinity Laban I am worried about delaying but I am sure she will find something even if it is Airbnb. We are inside M25 so probably would not get college accommodation anyway as TL allocate based on need not just on who applies early xx We h...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Hi DD is also on reserve dada list for Laine😱 we are wondering the same. How long does the clearing process last? I believe it depends on the year-sorry that doesn’t help does it? It seems to depend where they are on the list but I believe last year a lot on reserve were successful. Movement is hap...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Hello! Our update is that our DS is #3 on the Boys' reserve list for Laine funding. Having trawled through the previous year threads we are hopeful that he will make it to the top of the list, but know that we might have a long wait! (And also that it might not happen  ) Do any of you have DSs...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Massive shock!! DS has just had an email from Bird offering him a DaDA!! I'm so pleased for him, and he's accepted obviously, but doesn't want to think about it for now as he's busy revising for his GCSEs. We're fortunate in that Granny lives 2 miles from Bird so we don't need to think about accomm...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Has anyone heard back from the funding auditions from Laine yet? DD and I are on tenterhooks as they were so quick off the bat offering places after the intial audition, but it's been 3 weeks since the funding audition... DD has heard from friends that at least 6 got the magical phone call today, s...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

So it’s official Trinity it is for My DS next year for 3 year BA MT. Just really pleased he has somewhere to go - even if it was not his first choice. Good luck to those on reserve lists and those still waiting to hear. Big congratulations to your DS, I’m aware of quite a few this year who have bee...
