Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Yes this. It took me a while to get my head round it but auditioning for drama school isn't the same as being in a dance/drama comp. It's not just whoever performs the monologue the best 'wins' the place. The skill set and type are taken into account too. It’s a tough one isn’t it?! The job market’...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Has anyone heard if there has been any offers from GSA MT reserve list as yet? My DC is waiting and curious to know if there has been any offers / no's yet? Someone at my DD's college was offered a place last week from the reserve list. I wonder how that happens when they haven’t done all their rec...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Well done on all the offers, such a relief. Meanwhile we’re still waiting on GSA. Italia Conti emailed to say that there would be an outcome (on self tape) soon. Nothing from RB despite her emailing them to check if they had her application. Today is a PPA audition, she’s gone in totally flat - it’...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Does anyone know much about IAB in Barcelona? DD added to her applications without knowing a huge amount about it .. now she has an offer for the BA In MT. She’s been offered a callback for MV Foundation .. and has round 2 at Italia Conti tomorrow. IAB looks legit and she is doing A level Spanish s...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

I’m going to drive him down to GSA on Friday for recall Saturday then we’re staying to Sunday, it’ll be nice to make a weekend of it and not just a flying visit for him! We live just outside Sheffield, I dead to think what open days, cdmt conference, and auditions have cost in travel and hotels, pr...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Hi, my DD has just attended the Italia Conti audition preparation course, which she enjoyed and found useful, but I think it was a bit of a reality check for her! She had thought her singing was her strength as she has got a strong belt but although she received overall good feedback on her singing...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

my DD has just finished her 3 year BA degree at Chichester doing MT Triple threat. She would not recommended it at all. she loves acting but only received 2 hours a week and voice coaching was limited. lots of dance if thats your thing but but its not triple threat. contact hours are low and the qu...

Re: Funding for the more expensive colleges

No, I don’t think you are missing anything. Some colleges will be out of financial reach to some people. However, most if not all of those colleges have bursaries and scholarships. Sometimes for the whole fees for one talented student. Laines was not on our radar because we earn too much to qualify ...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

With so many great colleges going to the wall over the last few years due to funding issues I would be incredibly sceptical about a new college, regardless of the star power at the helm. It will take years for a proven track record to evolve and if funding isn’t established quickly, there will just ...

Re: 2022 entry how are we all doing as the first year draws to a close.

My DS just finished year 1 at GSA. He has had an absolutely fabulous year. Loved every minute of it. Only 24 in his year group on MT degree so lots of individual guidance. No showcases just assessments for them. Looking forward to year 2 and a lot of hard work.

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

So it looks like dd will be taking a gap year. She got a no from GSA, her final BA audition this year. She is still waiting for a couple of interview dates for foundation, which were the outcomes of BA auditions. Neither of them are funded, and whatever the outcome she’s decided not to do a foundat...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

And we’re finally done! All auditions over and results in. Stupidly proud of DS who having got no degree offers last year has got degree offers from Royal Welsh, RCS, EDA, Mountview and postgrad at RAM. To anyone not getting the results they want this year know that taking a year out is definitely ...
