Self Tape Success Stories
Looking for some advice on what makes a good self tape and some motivation to share with DC to keep at it! DC has done a fair few but never had any recalls or success. DC is now at the point where if asked to do a self tape its's seen a waste of time and almost like being punished!! I've read up on ...

Re: Top Talent Agency
Hi, we used to be with TTA as well as the theatre school. From personal experience I’d say there’s no preference given. They do have lots of kids on their books. Pros: They send kids for lots of good castings and seem to be very successful have all the right contacts. Cons: Communication can be patc...

Re: Self tapes?
For self tapes for a song can you record a voice memo or does it have to be a video recording showing them singing? I would always use video. It matters to them what you look like singing because its all part of the performance especially in musicals where the songs 'express the characters feelings...

Re: Self tapes?
Sorry if this is an obvious one! I'm a newbie. I should say thanks to the very helpful people on this site, helping me navigate this strange new world. We've done a few self tapes but no success either. For self tapes for a song can you record a voice memo or does it have to be a video recording sho...

Urdang Connect - Feedback
I'm after opinions and reviews on Urdang Connect. I'm looking to register my DS for the term. They do monthly and bi-monthly classes which will work with our current schedule. My DS is 11 and currently goes to his local drama which has been great, but I do feel he needs a bit more at a higher level....

Spotlight and Agency Submissions
Hi, I'm learning the ropes so please humour me if these seems like a strange question. Do your agencies tell you what they submit your DCs for periodically or do you ask the question? We will soon need to decide if to renew and I want to be in a position to make a decision based on facts and 'data'....

Re: Stagebox audition
I don't know if it's the same for the Development team but we can choose to either pay monthly for Elite or per workshop. My friend pays per workshop for her daughter but I have been paying monthly. Maybe worth asking x I think you will find that you have to pay monthly - DD a member of Elite team ...

Re: Expectations from Agencies
We hardly ever get feedback from the agency and it was frustrating one time when dd was seen many times for a show - I did ask them and they found out but really it was such general feedback it was probably the same answer for all. There probably isn't any feedback that is hugely useful - its most ...

Re: Expectations from Agencies
I'd say, on our experience anyway, to not expect any feedback. Dd has been booked at castings we thought were definite no's and then not got past recalls for what we thought went really well. Best ever was a phone call out of the blue to say booked for a campaign on just a photo - no casting, no au...

Re: Expectations from Agencies
An agent will only have any information to pass on to you if the casting teams have given them any feedback. This rarely happens! Some of the musicals have sent feedback especially if you have got a reasonable way through the process but self tapes, first round auditions don't usually get anything....

Expectations from Agencies
I have a general question regarding agencies and what is expected of them. Do you expect to get feedback from auditions regardless of the outcome. By feedback I mean a simple Yes or No. Would you expect an agent to know what stage things are at for roles they've sent people to audition for. Some con...

Re: Stagebox audition
Spoke to a lovely lady today who confirmed letters for the Elite Squad will be sent August 1st. Hopefully this is helpful info for those waiting on news. I'm confused I thought all Elite offers had been phoned? Is this for London only? We are still waiting on any news. At least we haven't had a no ...
