Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Does anyone know if the advanced learner loan might be available for mountview in second and third year? Also DADA finding on government website says the amount students have to contribute to fees rather than how much they get. I am assuming that is based on normal fees of £9,200 rather than Mountv...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

My daughter has a confirmed place at The MTA, a reserve list place at Italia Conti and an offer of an audition for Foundation at ArtsEd. I think she has rejected ArtsEd - wanting to get down to full-on training asap. But we have a conflict: she would rather end up with a BA and be in a bigger poten...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

The Dada information is all on the internet and the scales for help dependant on income. We had heard that some of the dada funded courses will offer additional scholarships if they really like the candidate so thought it was worth an audition. But yes most of my dd's applications are to degree cou...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

I think part of the problem is that most colleges don’t have their own accommodation so publishing costs is very difficult Right move do have a student area to look up places near to the address of the college I have a friend whose daughter is at Bristol Uni studying Architecture and her accommodat...

Re: Auditioning and 18th birthday celebrations

Thanks for the responses. I don't know which ones she'll be applying to this point. At what point is it 'all over?' in the calendar year.

Dancing - beginning at an older age (falling between the gaps)

16yo daughter is on a 2 yr MT course at college. She's done drama (acting) since she was 10, plus weekly singing within a group, and private singing lessons since she was 14. Dancing is something that had barely been touched on. As acting is her strength we always thought she'd go for the straight a...

Auditioning and 18th birthday celebrations

Daughter will be auditioning for Sept next year 2021. I've recently realised that her 18th birthday will fall in the Easter hols next year. My son will be 21 in the same month. We'd really like to go away preferably to New York to mark their 21st and 18th birthdays and being able to do this for daug...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Interesting news re Arts Ed foundation. Hopefully it will come to fruition and lead the path for others to follow suit. Over the few years I've been on here, I've noticed foundation courses becoming more usual before gaining a 3 yr place. Over 12 months ago I started a thread about Italia Conti due ...

With ref to £350 deposit at ArtsEd it is refundable up to 4 weeks before the start of term, perhaps I wasn't clear about that.
Ahh that's a better situation, I'd thought it was non-refundable.

Foundation offer for DD at ArtsEd. She isn't that happy about it, she thought it went really well.We have 15 days to accept and pay a £350 deposit. Two more auditions within that time so we will see how it goes.
Conngratulations to her but Ouch that sounds expensive. x

Re: Yyr 12 on MT course - what sort of things to do

Hi, sorry I posted late at night, so maybe a bit rambling. Daughter;s strength is acting. This is supported by singing and she has very little dance experience. The 'plan' always was for her to do an acting course at college at 16 followed by applying for straight acting courses at drama schools for...

Re: CDMT

I was on the brink of ordering tickets for us to take our daughter. She's in yr12 and through her college is already going to attend Create your future and Move It (which is part of a residential trip her college is doing). I've read through the colleges attending CDMT and I'm not sure it's worth it...

Re: Leeds College of Music

Hi I was browsing their website earlier this year and saw that they're introducing a straight acting course for next year. I hadn't realised their MT course was new. I'm aware of someone who studies there (friend's daughter's boyfriend) but I don't know what (it's not MT), friend said his contact ho...
