Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018

Finally some great news. DD has been offered foundation at PPA and is on the reserve list for BA. She is beyond excited - (me too). Thanks for all your wishes. And good luck to those still waiting. UCAS hasn’t updated yet but she’s had an email and it’s also showing on her PPA logon. Felicity I hav...

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018

Thanks herewegoagain! How does accommodation work for the students? What does your DD hope to do next and would she want to stay for the BA? She’s still auditioning at the moment but PPA is her top choice. I’m hoping she gets in as she’s so happy there but as with all colleges being on their Founda...

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018

PPA seem to be one of the quickest to let people know. Sometimes just a few days but with Move It this weekend I’m guessing it may be a little longer than usual. Fingers crossed for good news for you both. My DD is currently on the Foundation at PPA and is loving it. It’s a great place. If you have ...

Re: Late audition ?!

I think that the applications for music at Conservatoires closed early but for dance and MT it is the same as all UCAS applications - 15th January. I would ring them and ask.

Re: foundation course housing benefit

So we now have a letter from Guildford council saying that they require more information (we have already supplied the information initially requested). And on top of that because we didn't reply to their letter (which we never received) within the two week deadline we now have to start the applicat...

Re: foundation course housing benefit

I rang the council today as my DD took all the paperwork in nearly a month ago. Apparently they haven't even looked at it yet in spite of their turn around being 2 weeks. On a more positive note someone on her course is actually now in receipt of HB (backdated) so fingers crossed.

Re: foundation course housing benefit

The letter just said that she was not eligible because she was a student. I had phoned the housing department before we applied and told them the situation and they said then that she was eligible. I know of students from last year's course that did eventually get it so I'm not giving up either. I'l...

Re: foundation course housing benefit

DD has recently been turned down for housing benefit from Guildford Council. The online form was a nightmare to complete but the response was pretty quick, albeit a no. The letter wasn't very clear about why they had not agreed it but it gave us the right to ask them to reconsider and then appeal if...

Re: Auditioning for 2017

Hi all
Great site for the uninitiated. Loving reading all the threads. DD has the first of her auditions coming up. From what we have gleaned the GSA one will be about an hour. Anyone know what this consists of? Do they sing their song in front of the others? Thanks.
