Re: Recall for major film

My daughter recently auditioned for a lead role in a huge film, we hear back from her agency to say that they like to check her availability between now and end of august ready for a callback. How long does it take to hear about your callback, its been a week? Personally, I would check with the age...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Was anyone at Urdang on Sunday? How was it? I’ve heard it was very busy, even more than normal, as a previous date was cancelled. Not hearing of many offers from Urdang being given either. Sounds like recalls are the same as the original auditions, they’re just not sure about you and want to see yo...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

I think the most frustrating thing is 5/6 of the drama school auditions ds has done have been zoom/self-tape which doesn’t let them get a feel for the school or indeed I feel doesn’t always let them show the school what they can really do. I just hope next year they return to being in person. My DD...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Congratulations to all the ds and dds who have secured themselves a place! Hurrah! Still waiting here and really thinking that it might be a case of applying again next year to a larger range of places. As Harry2003 says there often doesn’t seem to be a great deal of rhyme nor reason to which schoo...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

It is very hard for them to know what is the best, all I can say is my DD found she just knew at the audition if it would be somewhere she would like to study. My DD is a strong TT, but loves the dance section, so didn't have the same issue. Is your daughter applying for Degree or Level 3/6? Mountvi...

Re: Wilkes Academy

My DD is 2nd-year RSL and you are right, they changed it last year. My daughter was in halls last year and she was 16 but now you have to be 18 and over or have a host family. My daughter now shares a property with 2 x 18 years old, one is first-year degree and one in her third year. My DD said they...

Re: Wilkes Academy

My DD is a 2nd student at Wilkes Academy and is transferring to her degree. She is so happy there, the training is outstanding and so is the standard of teachers they have. She auditioned for Mountview, Arts Ed, Italia Conti, Bird and Dance and Drama Conservatoire in London for her degree this year ...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Totally agree, my daughter stated if I am going to at this path I wanted to audition for the best, hence, turning down LMA. When she was auditioning for BTEC etc she secured places at WIlkes, SM, IC, Performers, Urdang (hated it), Brits, Bird and Laines. She chose Wilkes and has no regrets and still...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Yeah my daughter does love it there. Last year she found it all very commercial based and they had classes in commercial daily along with ballet. This year they are doing a lot more technical jazz which suits her, she is excels in jazz etc. The teachers are amazing and the school is really got a nam...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Thank you when the two of us talked this morning we literally said the same as you stated. We went to the open day and she hates it very flashy, selling on Robbie Williams being part owner and when she asked about the visiting teachers she didn’t know half of them. She wasn’t impressed with the danc...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Ok thanks. We had never heard of LMA before. My has her GCSEs grade 8 and 9 a full scholarship for her College fees and then scholarship for exceptional talent from the Black Heart Foundation. She received D*, D*, D* for her first year and already has secured her place at Wilkes for next year. But w...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

My daughter is doing RSL Creative and Performing Arts, she is the same. But they do over 30+ courses so I guess that is why Music students etc are being offered places. We are going along tomorrow anyway for the open day. My daughter has lots of questions to so she will get an idea.

Auditioning for 2022 entry

Thanks. I know they run lots of different courses over 2 campuses. My daughter is auditioning for Bird and Italia Conti as well. But she wants to be close to home as her brother was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis recently and she is struggling being away from him in Swindon otherwise I think she ...

Auditioning for 2022 entry - LMA

My daughter is currently at Wilkes Academy and is in her 2nd year. She has chosen to apply for her degree instead of doing the 3rd year, she has a place on the degree course at Wilkes but is looking closer to home. She is auditioning for Bird and Italia Conti and she was offered a place originally i...
