Re: Query on performing arts degree costs

We are not very well-off, so DS got a full student maintenance loan which was a help - it just about covers his (very frugal) living costs in London. There is a shortfall of around £7K per year for tuition fees, which we have managed to scrape together for the first two years. He did loads of fundra...

Re: September 2016 starters

DS is moving to London today, and starts at Mountview on Friday. It will be so strange without him! I know he's going to have the most wonderful time, though. Good luck to all the DC starting their courses soon :)

Re: Auditioning for 2016

DS just been offered a place at Mountview from the reserve list!! He's ecstatic, as Mountview was his dream school, and he'd given up hope of hearing anything. Just shows, there's still a chance of movement, even at this late stage. He's turned down his place at Trinity Laban, so someone on their wa...

Anyone know if there is likely to be much movement on Mountview reserve list?

Re: Auditioning for 2016

Lindy, my DS also got a no after the first round at GSA this year. He's 17 and it was his first audition. He was gutted as he really loved the place and has a couple of good friends there. He's since auditioned for 6 more colleges, and has had offers from Urdang and Millenium, and recalls for Mountv...

Re: Auditioning for 2016

DS auditioned at Millennium last week - his song got cut short, so I wouldn't take anything much longer than 2 mins. They also did some scale work with him. This morning he got an offer for the degree course!! He's very happy :)

Re: Auditioning for 2016

Hi Dogcop, he had a great day at Mountview. He was going for MT - didn't get a recall unfortunately, but they've asked him to come back and audition for the Acting course! He's really pleased as he loved the college and felt really at home there. He had his Millennium audition yesterday which he als...

That's wonderful Dogcop, he must be thrilled to get so many offers! Which ones does he like best?
Good luck to your DD Livy2, and to everyone else that has upcoming auditions. Let us know how you get on :)

Where has he had offers from Dogcop? It's good that they don't keep them waiting too long! DS has Urdang audition at the end of the month.

Re: Auditioning for 2016

DS has 7 auditions coming up in Jan/Feb. The first is Mountview on Wednesday, then Millennium the following Monday. I think I am more stressed out than he is!

Musical Theatre courses that are NOT too dance-based

So, DS will be auditioning this year for diplomas/degrees in Musical Theatre - it's come around very quick! He's a strong singer/actor, and whilst he is reasonably competent in dance, it's not his strong point. Colleges he definitely wants to apply to are Mountview, Trinity Laban, GSA, Central, Urda...
