Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Ooh, I’m really glad this thread has been started, I’ve been watching the 2019 one for a while, and now it’s our turn  DD is just finishing first year at sixth form and we’ve started doing some research in where to go next for a musical theatre BA. She’s strongest in singing and acting, and ...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Apologies for being a bit vague and not remembering the details, but something worth bearing in mind for future “fall back” strategies. I’ve been led to believe that A levels are only valid for 5 years for getting into Uni and beyond that you can be required to do an entry year/qualification. I’m su...

Re: lcm

At the open day, they said the contact hours were between 15 and 25 depending on the modules taken. On the plus side, at LCM you can take their singing exams at reduced cost and study amongst all those talented musicians doing pure music courses but my daughter rejected LCM for musical theatre due ...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Just to offer a bit more encouragement to everyone still waiting. Two years ago round about now, things turned around for DD. She'd had 4 auditions prior to Christmas with none resulting in an offer of any sort. The Christmas break was tough knowing that she had only 3 more auditions to go. She ende...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

There were some issues at Italia Conti earlier this year. Does anyone know if there are any plans to move from Barbican? Are you referring to the allegations of financial impropriety? That's seems to have gone quiet but my understanding is that it is still being investigated. I know nothing about a...

Re: After graduation....

My daughter has recently graduated from LSC summer 2018. One of the reasons she picked LSC is they had an agents week towards the end of their third year. She auditioned for approx 20 agents over the course of a week. She had approx 8 -9 offers of representation. She is now in her first job in Mati...

Re: After graduation....

Couldn’t agree more! And how quickly those three years pass! You do sit back and relax for a few years and then suddenly year 3 is suddenly upon you! But the delight when your dd bags her first job is overwhelming! After graduating from Urdang in June dd is currently living the dream in Miami! Rehe...

Re: After graduation....

We're on holiday in Spain after watching DD graduate on Sunday just gone and I'm reading the posts about new starters for Sep-18, and applying for Sep-19. It made me think that there are four phases to what our DCs Go through. Three are stressful for them and us, and one is in the main fun/stressful...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018

Foundation students can apply for a room in halls too so in theory the 3 could all get a room each in halls. Just call and say they want to be in the same flat. Thank you Robin64, I think we've finally found somewhere, a flat share, works out much cheaper than halls and closer too. i am wondering t...

Re: Urdang Sept 2018

Sorry, I know this isn’t Urdang related, but adding to the comments about accommodation ](*,) ](*,) can somebody explain (genuine question!) why letting agents have fees if you need a guarantor, but then say it is not their policy to let to tenants who are not in employment? I rang an agent today t...

Re: GSA Musical Theatre - info needed!

I went to the Open Day last year and they said they took 36. They do dance every day but all the different courses (foundation to MA) do the dance classes together and they stream they quite a lot so that everyone should be in a class appropriate to their current level - well that's what they said ...

Re: Reserve vs offers

As far as I am aware, if you start a degree course but realise that the degree is not for you, or that the university is not for you, you are able to change. If you wish to stay at the same place and change course, it depends very much on where you study, if you meet the entrance requirements and i...

Re: Drama school

I hope that I can offer some support for all you parents and students out there who haven’t had the news you wanted this year and maybe this is your 2nd or 3rd year of trying. It’s so hard to keep watching your child fail and then watch as they pick themselves up, dust themselves off and try and ge...
