Re: How should I help DS go forwards?
Hullo again, the app is called line learner and you record the lines in, then you can play both initially, then just the other person's lines so you can say yours. My son loves it. As for panto, we just keep an eye on all the local theatre Facebook pages and websites. I hope this helps.

Re: How should I help DS go forwards?
Although it is not so glamorous, why not try for local shows and panto, they are still great learning experiences and maybe take a break from the film/tv until he feels more inclined to do it. If he is not enjoying the process right now it might put him off for good, which will be a shame as he soun...

Oh congratulations Sugarplumfairy that is lovely to hear and gives hope to people wondering about self-tapes. Fredabloggs, hopefully next time your DS will be the one celebrating, it is hard when you get that close, we know that feeling xxx

Re: Self Tape Success Stories
Oh Sugarplumfairy that is grand news, fingers crossed for your DD and yes, you absolutely do not mind (and in fact love quite a bit!) spending the money on travel if you know you have been noticed :) I think these days so many are doing self-tapes first that you cannot fail to start getting just the...

Re: Self Tape Success Stories
Oh yes I agree Sugarplumfairy, the non-scripted ones are so hard. I guess there are some kids that are good at it, but my DS also goes all a bit stiff and fake and they take forever to do, whereas with the scripted ones he is getting so much better at, really relaxed and gets them done very easily a...

Re: School Absence
Firstly no you cannot just ignore the school and take the day off because you need them to sign a letter saying they agree to it in order to get the licence (and if you did not get a licence you would struggle to get one for anything else and the production could get into lots of trouble). Speak to ...

Re: School Absence
I always say I will take the work with me and arrange with the class teacher to pick it up the night before, I would try the approach of saying you are happy to do this, if they say no, ask what you can do to make this happen and stress how important this is for your DC's future as this is what he/s...

Re: Submissions
Bethjaneg am exactly like you, I have 100% faith in my agent and never ask to see submissions as I prefer to just get a nice surprise :) Every so often I will ask about something too if I have heard about it and every single time without fail, the submission has already been done! And as you say Imi...

Re: Submissions
Hi Imistar, 8 submissions in 3 weeks is good and yes I am really sorry to say that you cannot judge on 4-5 weeks and the fact that they are being cooperative and showing you the submissions means you have a decent agent. Speak to them and ask about the photos, but also don't forget casting agents ha...

Re: Submissions
Firstly, many agents don't send lists through, so that is a good start :) But also it is impossible to give a number, it just depends on what productions are going on. Sometimes it seems every casting requires a 10 year old boy and you can't keep up with the self-tapes and other times months go by w...

Re: Endlings
Thanks folks, I know they were casting net very far and wide so they are probably still looking at tapes!! Or they have just reverted to the US
If anyone does hear anything, even a vicious rumour it would be great if you could let us know (so we can put it to bed:) )

Endlings
Did anyone hear back on this quite open self-tape, has anyone heard if people have been called for auditions, there were several roles for DS and DD ages 8-14 I think.
