Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

That's cheap! We have a friend at Bird this year and she pays £175 a week no food or bills! I was going to say are you sure that’s not per week! My daughter pays £420 with bills at Performers (not food) but some are paying over £500, £250 in Surrey seems unbelievably cheap but would be nice if it’s...

Re: Kids Know Best?

This is still casting for kids on various websites.

Anyone know any more about what it is and how it works - we have steered clear following the previous replies, but just wondering if there were any more positive experiences out there?

Re: What do you look for in an agent?

You can go and check the submissions in your Tagmin account. I am sure they are submitting your daughter if it is suitable (why would not they?). It is just crazy competitive and if you girl doesn't stand out from the crowd, it is literally like a lottery. I didnt know you could see a list of submi...

Re: What do you look for in an agent?

Yes to the above 100 times over!!

Someone whose job is to represent their clients, and only that - not someone who is doing it to fill in between pauses in their own career

Re: Best etiquette for changing agents

It depends on the reasons for leaving and whether there are any terms and conditions or notice periods that they may want to hold you to. We have always found the alternative agent first, and then I have explained the situation to the existing one. You can switch Spotlight over almost immediately, s...

Re: Using house as filming location

That's interesting Pandora - thanks.

I hadn't thought about the wear and tear side of it, but now you say it, yes I bet things gets fairly trashed. Not such an appealing option perhaps then...!

Using house as filming location

Hi Has anyone got any experience of this, or have any idea what the going rate might be? Is it a total nightmare? A friend of mine lives in a (very small) country house/stately home in the north of England and has the possibility of it being used for a small indy feature film location but they have ...

Re: Pressure Pit Gameshow warning

Have you reported it to Mandy too?
They have followed up on people running unlicensed shoots when I have reported it in the past, and they have also taken down and blocked a recent posting which invited submissions only to then spam you with lots of self promotional rubbish from the original poster.

Re: Pressure Pit Gameshow warning

Thank you for sharing Darmont. It is a really useful cautionary tale, and as said above, so good that you were supervising throughout and I hope you are both ok. Please dont feel foolish - the unscrupulous rely on the fact that the rest of us have to have s degree of trust to make the world go round...

Re: BA Hons Theatre Production as back up ?

Guildhall do BA Hons in Production Arts, and also in Technical Theatre, which are very highly regarded. My DS starts there in Sept but on the music strand. The people I know who did the technical theatre course (about 10 years ago) are all still working successfully in the industry.
