Re: Auditioning for 2017

Which ones are on your list? We have got a date back from Evolution and just sent one to Performers. Plan this week is to have a look at what Millenium need and then Urdang, possibly Bird a bit further along. It takes longer than I thought as they all ask for slightly different things! Hi je...

New thread for actual destinations...for Sept 2015

Hi all - I was just thinking to myself that so many people were successful - it would nice to see where everybody's dc decided on.

Mine had offers from GSA, Urdang & Laines - she chose to go with GSA.

I hope that everyone's transitions go smoothly and that the kids love their new classes!

Re: Auditioning for 2016

With regards to GSA - my dd made her offer (lots of blood sweat & tears involved). But last year a friend of hers did not make their and was totally rejected. This year she knows of a few that were so talented that they got unconditional offers. She also knows of a few people who were able to ne...

not an empty nest...but need ideas on how to manage.

I've still got 2 at home but the feeling of dread at my dd's impending departure later this week to go off on her next adventure is making it hard to manage. I'm astounded by the asymmetry - by that I mean the crazy unconditional love that I feel for her coupled with the tolerance and guilt I almost...

uniform shopping

Hi everyone I need to sort out uniform for my dd. Was wondering if anyone had any good places the recommend online for things like shoes? We get a very small weight allowance when flying to the UK so I am hoping to find things like dance shoes and have them ordered to grandma's place in preparation ...

Re: Disposable email addressess

Hi - my issue is that my account is linked to my work email - and I no longer work there. My only other email address is a gmail address that I have used for years! Can my account be moved to there?

Many thanks

Re: Drama school after scoliosis

my son had major surgery - he is an athlete and a dancer - he is younger (12) but incredibly active. It took him much longer than he would have liked to recover fully. He had hip surgery - but he had to modify movement for so long that it caused secondary issues (knee) so I would say that she will n...

Physio insurance

HI everyone My dd will be coming from abroad and we haven't had any experience with the NHS for years and I saw a few mentioned that this kind of insurance is a good idea. Can anyone point me in the right direction? As a avid dance/athlete - my dd has needed physio a fair amount in the last little w...

Re: September 2015

Trinity Laban is well known for contemporary whereas Mountview is very well respected for MT! I haven't heard as much about Trinity for MT but think that its considered a top notch dance school.

Congrats to your ds and good luck with his decision!

Re: September 2015

We are on a different stage of the waiting game now...waiting for results so we can figure out what happens next. Dd completed exams and now we wait...I swear I am so fed up of the waiting game but nothing is in our control. Here's hoping for the best results on auditions/funding/exam results for al...

Re: September 2015

Her actual offer on UCAS didn't mention points it mentioned minimum grades - and when you tally everything up its a minimum of 320 UCAS points and not the 200 points that we expected. For example they are looking for a high score in English literature...but I'm surprised that the offer is significan...

Re: September 2015

Urdang finally went up on UCAS - but anyone else with a DC that may be considering the degree at Urdang - you might want to look at the fine print....our conditions on UCAS are VERY different from the conditions on the letter. Letter - 200 UCAS points UCAS offer - is the equivalent of approx 320 UCA...
