Re: Auditioning for 2017

Last year DD successfully auditioned at Millennium, Bird and Urdang (currently at Urdang on degree) and I'm very happy to answer questions about the auditions and schools if needed!

Re: What to do at 16?

Hi biscuitsneeded, during my DDs time in 6th form she did 3 non performing arts related A Levels; biology, psychology and history (dropping biology in the 2nd year) as well as a BTEC diploma in Performing Arts. Although she was persuaded by her dance teacher to take both A level dance and drama on t...

Urdang Accommodation

Hiya all, DD has recently been offered a degree place at Urdang. We've very briefly started to have a look at accommodation options, we were a bit shocked to see just how expensive all of the 'student halls' options were on the accommodation list provided and haven't been successful in finding any s...

Re: Auditioning for 2016

DD has been offered BA place at Urdang her dream college, after being offered a partially funded diploma place last year this is just a dream come true! I suppose what I'm trying to say, anyone who hasn't got what they wanted this year, DO NOT be down hearted, take a year, work hard and it will all ...

Re: Auditioning for 201

Big congratulations to all of those who have received positive offers so far, doesn't it make it all worth it! Bit of a long shot, does anyone remember at the BIrd audition when the deputy principle Luis De Abreu mentioned that the college was rated 3rd for percentage of west end performers trained...

Re: Auditioning for 2016

Thanks all for the info reguarding Millennium at Move It, I hadn't though of the cost involved with being represented there! Anyone got a DC at Millennium who would care to share their experiences? As for those of you waiting for Urdang funding letters, I wish you all the best of luck, I remember la...

Re: What to do at 16?

Hi Dixie37, I wouldn't be disheartened by the prospect of your dd having to do a levels. My dd did A-levels in History and Psychology , alongside a level 2 BTEC in performing arts gaining a B and an A grade. She went on to audition and although she couldn't accept her diploma place due to lack of fu...

Re: Auditioning for 2016

Does anyone know if Millennium were at Move it this year? We're interested to see any recent performance footage as DD has a place there for September but can't find much about the school other than the website!

Re: Audition Songs!!

Yes oscar we were aware of that, but her best friend auditioned for Arts Ed a week ago, sang If I Loved You and was recalled so I don't think she'll have anything to worry about with that one, thank you though! Okay TotallycluelessMum, thank you for that, where did you hear no Sondheim!? Yes i can i...

Re: Audition Songs!!

As this feed has become active again recently, just thought I'd ask, does anyone have any experience with or know whether 'On The Steps of the Palace' (Into the Woods) is a suitable audition song or whether it's just far too tricky accompaniment wise to ask them to sight read? DD's singing teacher t...

Re: Auditioning for 2016

In regard to reserve lists, my DD was offered Urdang diploma last year, we turned it down and asked for a place on the degree reserve list instead. We heard nothing unfortunately and so DD didn't go, but a week after Urdang started she heard that a few diploma students were offered the option of tra...
