Re: Housing benefit for BTEC and Foundation 16-18

It is £57 per week. Your DC will be asked how rent is topped up and what they live on at a much later stage. All of this information comes through as the claim progresses, you think you have answered everything you need to and then there is a request for something else. Make a copy of the claim form...

Re: 'Best fit' schools/colleges post 18?

He might be overwhelmed by the amount of glitter and Jo Bows but not anything else,in fact I think inspired by all the male performers that will be there. There are lots of workshops that he can take part in,you will need to book well in advance, mine has taken part in a fair few MT ones. Next year w...

Re: 'Best fit' schools/colleges post 18?

We at started looking in year 9. I think early research is vital,in the year they audition, GCSE year, time is very tight and time off is needed for auditions. Look now and start researching. One of the best things we went to was MOVE IT. Lots to see there ,also follow all the top and not so top coll...

Re: Chaperone Qualifications

If you look at your local council website they should have details ours does.
They hold courses and are suitable for a volunteer or a professional one which is more expensive to do. I think it's well worth doing and something I have considered before .

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

My daughter has just started 6th form and is loving it so far,she was successful at Tring and Brit but loved here most of all. It really is worth going to see for yourself, let them worry about how they will sort the day out and just let your's enjoy it.With regards to accommodation this was the mos...

Re: Brit school RES/APPEAL

No worries. It is such an emotional process from auditioning onwards. I too have had comments about my daughter's choice too,at times she has felt embarrassed about saying where she is going. I have had people say to me they thought it's the wrong place for her,one did apologise and after researchin...

Re: Brit school RES/APPEAL

It wasn't intended as an insult, apologies if anyone is offended. Perhaps I should have said a better MT college for her. No need to verbally attack anyone who posts something that they feel in any case. It was actually a post to encourage others not to give up who may apply in future,we were despera...

Re: Brit school RES/APPEAL

Just incase anyone reads this thread for future reference my DD was offered a place to start the next day after being on out of catchment reserve list 3 days after term started, someone dropped out.
She was 5th on list and declined the place as had an offer at a better MT college.

How do you think she feels? Does she think she has done well? I think she has ,I have nothing to go on but it seems productive to me.

Re: Housing benefit for BTEC and Foundation 16-18

With housing benefit after a break of a certain amount of time eg Summer break I think you need to re apply so,what if UC is in force after you re apply, what if they then refuse the benefit ?100 ' s of students would face financial difficulties.
