Re: Acting 6th form
There's an Acting strand at Arts Ed 6th form, if you can afford the eye-watering fees. I believe there is one at the Brit School too but you need to live in the right postcode. There may be something at BOA and SOTE in Birmingham too. However (and this is just my opinion of course!) I'm not sure it...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Hi all As an ex GSA mum I am reading all these posts with interest. Mine had an amazing time doing MT and has gone on to work professionally, starting before graduation. On GSA website if you click on students and alumni you can see their destinations and Spotlight info. Same for ArtsEd under studen...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Best of luck to all starting, it will fly by. Mine graduated from GSA this year, started work day after graduation and has just finished a nationwide tour and home now for a rest before starting panto. Some GSA grads have had amazing job offers this year, lots of west end debuts, cruises and tours. Th...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
DD is so torn over a year out and reapplying or accepting Uni of Chichester MT music, she just doesn’t know what to do. I don’t feel I’m much use! She can defer a year, but then couldn’t apply to any colleges through UCAS unless she rejects Chichester. Chichester has good ratings, but not necessari...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
Can someone shed some light on me please. Looking on the GSA website for info about the foundation course in acting, it says that student loans are available. Is this something new, as far as I was aware the foundation was not covered by student finance. There’s a link attached but it but it gives ...

Re: drama school reserve list
There is lots of juggling going on, many don't accept places, can't afford offered places and some do have a limited number on waiting lists. Only experience on a waiting list was for my DD who was on Brit School reserve list- had a call 2 nights before the start of term. It might be worth just waiti...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
https://www.cdmt.org.uk/ Link above is for the CDMT conference held at Mounview. I cannot stress how valuable this was to my DD before auditioning. Great representation, informative, showcases and a chance to try a class from lots of drama schools. Opportunities to hear what tutors have to say about...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Thanks Harry2003! Hope your ds is happy in his course, it's such an exciting time for them! Where did he choose in the end, I seem to remember he had a great set of offers! Good luck to everyone starting their new courses, I'm sure they will all have a blast! Thank you. He chose GSA. We considered ...

Yes free but only 5/6 places offered to those out of catchment area - my daughter was lucky enough to be offered a place but turned it down .stageybekah wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 1:04 am The BRIT school have various performing and production courses and they are all free

Re: The end or the start - who knows
I remember you making this decision - how can they offer a course and a student not be able to get the benefit of an agent showcase - that doesn't seem fair - or is that common?
She can apply herself for representation - maybe contact the agents she got offers from before.
Wishing her the best

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Thanks lotsolaffs, dd does love the sound of GSA, the rent/maintenance loan scenario worries me a bit but we’ll have to cross that bridge if/when she comes to it. As GSA is part of the University of Surrey, the first year she'd be able to stay in Uni halls. They have a lot more reasonable starting ...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Bit of advice needed if poss please. Just booked dd on GSA open day (can’t believe I’m starting this all over again) and wondered how long to give us to look round? Oldest dd’s open days were more or less full days with classes etc but GSA (as it’s part of a ‘normal’ Uni) doesn’t look like it runs ...
