Re: Italia Conti BA Musical Theatre
Does anyone know what the difference is between the course offered at the London site and the one in Guildford? It’s not at all clear from the website. Is one thought to be better than the other? My understanding (anyone, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong) is that they are exactly the same. IC A...

Re: Housing benefit for BTEC and Foundation 16-18
My son (aged 16) has just been awarded housing benefit from Guildford Borough Council. £80.77 per week. We applied for it four weeks ago , sent supporting documents two weeks ago and first payment has just come through.

Re: Sept 2018 entry. Post 16 MT

Not sure whether she will stay only because it’s very dancey and she loves acting and singing but there are some fab teachers there and the accommodation at Guildford is good and right on site Yes Guildford, have already booked accommo...

Re: Sept 2018 entry. Post 16 MT
My DD is currently waiting to hear whether she has a second audition for BRIT. She was impressed (and terrified) by the standard of the talent at the first workshop. 360 kids (of which at least 300 were girls!). As a result of this we have now applied for Laine's 3 year diploma, although I imagine ...

Re: Leave home at 15?
Please help... OK, so, after attending an open workshop your ds is invited to audition for a great BTEC scholarship 80 miles from home. He wants to go with every sinew in his body because of his passion and its reputation for getting students into arts ed and all the other ones beyond our means. BU...

Boys Dance Solo - Musical Theatre Extended BTEC 16+
Hi all, I'm after some advice. My son has applied to a few colleges/drama schools for the Musical Theatre extended BTEC course. Some of them have group dance auditions but a couple of them require a 1.5 minute dance solo. so, he has done a fair amount of dance in shows like Bugsy Malone and Joseph a...

Re: Open casting for Fantastic Beasts Sequel
We applied and then a week later were asked to submit a self tape. That was late last week. Hi what part was this for and does your DC look like the character? Hi, sorry for the late reply. It was for the Newt Scamander role and I'd say that yes there is a definite likeness between the two. Saying ...

Re: Doctor's letter
We recently had 3/4 days to get one of these, our surgery said because my son hadn't been seen by a doctor for over 6 months (because he's fit and well) he would need to go in and have a mini medical. She then went on to tell me that because it was being done 'privately' and not on the NHS we would ...

Re: Quirky Kidz
I can only comment very positively about quirky Kidz. My son has had some amazing opportunities through them. He's filmed a commercial in Portugal, been part of a Sony commercial, done some modelling and was Friedrich in ITVs Sound of Music Live at Christmas. The PQA training he receives is amazing ...

Re: West End Calling Competition
Where did you see it is the same company as Teen Star and do I interpret correctly the suggestion that means it's not a good thing? I saw it's a £30 deposit which you get refunded if you sell the tickets. However, we don't have any family in London but I wonder if it works out that if you don't sel...
