Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
It's not that far from Rose Bruford is it? My daughter is going there and we've found same thing. Mine tried applying for private housing but she also wasn't helped that she got a late offer so couldn't look earlier and the student houses seem a bit reluctant to take on an unknown first year (under...

MTA confirms it's closing
Sad news but the MTA has confirmed they will be shutting at the end of the academic year after they failed to secure promised funding.

Re: LOOKING FOR- Host Family Accommodation
Congrats to your DD for getting a place How old is your DD? I know that at Bird anyone who is 16 when they start have to be with a college approved host family, rather than rent locally / go into halls. They usually send the list out at the start of June. It's worth checking with the theatre school,...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry
Last year Bird sent their uniform list at the start of the summer holidays I think. It isn’t strict. They tend to wear black tights even for ballet. Leotards colour of their choice suitable style for ballet and for jazz. Bird hoodies they can buy once they start. The only thing they are quite speci...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
Just spoke with my DS. He is at Avery Hills campus on Bird Degree. Settled in well - just had a water fight with some of the other campus students  Good luck to your DS starting today - an emotional weekend for us as DD had graduation ceremony at Bird on Saturday and Grad ball last night From...

Good Luck
As we reach the end of the journey as our DD has her graduation ceremony next Saturday - wanted to wish everyone starting in the coming weeks the absolute best Wherever they go - whatever they do they've achieved so much just by being accepted at these phenomenal colleges. As parents it's tough to l...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
this one says don't reply if you wish to remain on the list......but still can't say where you are on it until after the end of June. From memory this is what they do just before making all the offers. It's done very quickly using UCAS Extra (?) for degree. I would imagine end of June is the deadli...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
Bird have just sent out the email asking if you wish to remain on the wait list...and still cannot tell anyone where they are! This process just seems ridiculous although I am sure it's easier for them! From our experience in previous years, once this question is asked (usually with a reply deadlin...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
Hi everyone, we are looking for accommodation for Bird - if anyone knows of anything available we would be very grateful if you could let me know. (Edited to say I’m sure someone posted about a room a few weeks ago but I can’t seem to find it. If that was you and it’s still available please get bac...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
Hi, just trying to work out how much we need to top up the maintenance loan for Bird. Is it in London or outside London for student finance purposes? [-o< If it's outside then the accommodation isn't close to being covered by the maintenance loan  Bird is definitely inside London - it's under...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
He has decided to go with Bird College. Would be great to hear from other parents on here. I am FLUMMOXED by accom options. I would be hugely grateful if anyone can help with this? He has been talked out of going to Avery Hills halls so is now looking at shared accommodation with some friends from ...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
Hi, my DS is going to Bird (but a DaDA from Laine would confuse him) and he already has a place in a student flat reserved. I can't speak for Laine as I have no idea, but for Bird I would suggest that your DD joins the snapchat groups if she hasn't already. I think 'degree birdies' might be the bes...
