When do you stop supporting dreams?

So dd has wanted to be a performer since 9, she has had some close calls with auditions but never got the "big" break so to speak. She trains, in dance , MT and private singing lessons. My husband says she doesn't have "it", and I am beginning to doubt too (only due to lack of su...

Re: Happy Feet Management, Madfish, Hero or TTA?

I have experience with 2 of those agencies. If you are in the south then it really does make a difference. TTA lots of internal competition, good communication nice friendly agency. Happy if you turn down auditions. Run workshops sometimes Hero, good if you are based in the south, not happy if you t...

Re: Amount/type of training at 13

Weekly my ds does 3.5 hours musical theatre & 3 hours drama. He does a ballet class & a modern class ( only been doing this for a year so likely less than other boys) plus a private singing lesson. At the moment he has an extra 1.5 drama rehearsal for a national theatre connections play plu...

Re: Amount/type of training at 13

What a great question, my daughter wants to go into the profession when older too, so she has a lot of classes with amdram when applicable. My husband has just started to complain about the amount if running around we do taking her to classes and rehearsals etc. At least now I can say she isnt doing...

Re: Self Tape Success Stories

Never had anything from a self tape, one time DD really was fed up and we did a rubbish self tape, the agent refused to submit it and we re-did. Again we never get any feed back. We have looked at all the advice and tried to implement it, to be honest we are sick of the way the whole industry find i...

Re: Does it matter if the child is learning in accordance with RAD or ISTD or UTD?

I was told by a dance teacher that it is technique and knowledge rather than the syllabus, as I was looking to move dd away from and ISTD/RAD school.

Re: MT B A at Blackpool

My DD auditioned at Blackpool at this college, she was offered her place within 24 hours of the audition. DD didn't like it and felt that there wasn't enough contact hours. The other thing that put DD off was the fact that people were auditioning who had never ever danced in their lives at all, DD ...

I can ask around, I've not heard anything good or bad.
