Re: Auditions during school time
Basically my 17 year old has signed up with a new agency this year for acting purposes and she did a 3 day job on a very well-known movie at the end of February, we said she was ill during this time as the experience was too much to say no too (don't judge me lol). Now she was supposed to do anothe...

Commercial Fees
Hi all, Looking for some help. DD was in a commercial last weekend (our first). Looking at the license it states a BSF fee but has no mention of any buyout fee... is this normal to not include this on license? Presumably there will always be a buyout fee as well? ETA: I know we probably should have ...

Agreed, Emily Blunt made it for me. And Lilia Crawford.
Re: BFG film
No, for role of Sophie still, madness that they are now conducting 2nd recalls whilst also still holding 1st rounds, don't think they know what they're looking for  Some third meetings I've heard as well... I know two girls, one age 11 on her 1st recall and one age 9 on her 2nd recall. I agr...

DD's friend been recalled to read an extract from the script - what an exciting opportunity!
Re: BFG film
DD's friend was seen at her theatre school. She was asked to do a few improvisations. The CD said it would be a while before anyone heard. Fingers crossed for all being considered!

Re: Scream management
I'm sorry to hear about your experience MrsH.13. I imagine its frustrating and a little perplexing when your DD is obviously talented but usually agents - like casting directors - have a look or style or something in mind when they're bringing new kids onto the books. Such is the world of performing...

If he's the understudy I would have thought he would only be playing that part if the other boy is unwell on show night. Who was the person who said he'd definitely go on - was that someone in a high position?

Re: permission refused. is head mistress being unreasonable?
I find it flabbergasting that one person can make such a huge decision for a child they've probably never even spoken to, on a subject that is of such high importance to that little girl/boy. Amazing letter begolina =D> - I too have copied and saved... this thread has put my nerves on edge!! I had a...

Re: permission refused. is head mistress being unreasonable?
Wow, Jules, I am so so cross for you reading how short-sighted and unfair the head was being!! Unbelievable, and very sad, that they won't even take the time to consider the individual case - I really do think that is awful. [-( .... but wow, good on you for pulling her there and then! Wow! I think ...

Re: permission refused. is head mistress being unreasonable?
Oh, I hate hearing stories of headteachers who do this :( . I think it's very unfair and very unreasonable, and especially at 6-years-old when your DD is hardly revising for any important exams! I think it's very sad how headteachers can turn their nose up at such opportunities when it's hardly any ...

Re: Musical theatre for boys
I think it'll be in a similar situation in most places... at all of DD's theatre and dance schools, boys are outnumbered about 15:1.

Re: Seeking Fantastic Young Singers
My DD is always pushing their Instagram pictures in my face too and she's always on their youtube channel. I've only ever heard very good things about them. Shame DD's too young for this workshop.
