Re: Km casting call
The notice said availability required throughout the summer. Given that everyone is presumably avoiding holidays during term time so as to not scupper permission for performing time off, how do you actually go away as a family? To be clear, i'm asking a genuine question about how you all manage it. ...

Re: Rehearsal and show on school day.
My DD did professional panto aged 8 and 12. It started as school all day and rehearsals most nights, rehearsals through substantial parts of the weekend. Then for some rehearsals all day, others school followed by rehearsals. The show then opened, early November, and closed the latter half of Januar...

Re: permission refused. is head mistress being unreasonable?
The Head I worked for saw children as a whole person. She allowed authorised time off for performances, official competitionsite, cricket, football; she even thought allowing parents in our area (where teachers roles are never vacant because the salaries are seen as very high, which gives you some i...

Re: Terrible standards of chaperoning
I work in the office of a primary school. I can just imagine what you are seeing paulears. I'm also horrified by hearing a chaperone who knew what they were doing losing work by really having kids interests at heart.

Re: Sally King from Koska King
I don't know what it's like in the SE but in the North the competition for child extra work is huge for film or tv, hundreds of suggestions for each child required. The booked times can move around like crazy and be cancelled with very little notice. You have a very real chance of completely ending ...

Re: An Inspector Calls Audition advice
Serenwen, can I ask how far in advance they are casting the kids? And did you get the impression a lot of drama groups had been contacted?

Re: Move it
I won two tickets to see the Perform event next door. Hubby had a fit at the cost of the train but DD and I had a great day watching as many of the performances we could. Yes the stalls were very much aimed at young people looking for college courses but the performances included Spirit YPC, stage m...

Like many others, I appreciate your hard work admin, and I dare say it involves a lot more work than we could imagine. I remember you were thinking about ways to make the site pay for itself, did you decide not to go ahead or is it on the backburner?

Re: dissertation topics/ideas
I suspect my friends who saw Curious Incident at the cinema saw much more of it than I did up in the gods, where you can rarely see a facial expression and rely on speech and body language. But even with those limitations it was amazing.

Re: Twitter
I've been using Twitter for a few months and have just about got to grips with it, though on searching some items I came across young people tweeting in some sort of illegible code. My 14 year old appears to understand it but said I was too old and embarrassing. Well we all knew that anyway. I wonde...
