Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Congratulations to your dd on the offer, it certainly helps to have some positive news and takes some of the pressure off. I think not hearing from GSA is promising, 🤞she hears soon. Dd is about to start her recalls, she applied later than originally anticipated. She has Central audition on Monday a...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Thanks LizzyBee, I panicked for a moment! I haven’t looked on the website since last year, I think I clicked on the wrong course. I only realised after I posted on here 😅

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

K8t, I hope your dd hears back with good news soon, 🤞 for her. I just had a quick look on the Rose Bruford website and it says their BA acting is being delivered at their Wigan campus in Manchester, is that right?! That’s something I wasn’t aware of and I believe neither was dd! I’ll have to ask her...

For those that might be interested, EDA are now offering a government funded foundation, with a £1500 per year private top up fee.

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Sorry to hear it’s a no from EDA. It’s hard to see them disappointed, especially when they have their heart set on a particular college. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and from what you said, it sounds to me like Arts1 is a better suited college for your dd, fingers crossed...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

So GSA is right up her street. Would she look at Mountview Foundation/degree, or does the cost rule it out? (It did for us!). Have a look at Urdang. They are trying to shed their 'just for dancers' image and we know quite a few actor-singers there now. Also, if acting is the biggest love, what abou...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

@K8 if you had to rank her 3 skills (acting, singing, dance), what order what you put them in? Just trying to think where might suit! Acting - through song is very good - singing, dance. She’s concentrating on Foundations this time, but I think she should apply for BA too So GSA is right up her str...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Anyone starting degree apps? Torn in our house as to try and do any this side of Xmas or wait till after. We haven’t applied anywhere yet and are facing the same dilemma here. If they are ready to audition I would say definitely apply before Christmas. Having left it until last minute last year, dd...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Well it’s done. She thought it went well and she performed her best, but she didn’t get an interview. They specifically said that doesn’t mean it’s a no, but she is convinced it does and is gutted. Urgh! Not getting an interview can mean 3 things: they’ve seen enough to make an offer, they are not ...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry

Dd applied very late last year, she submitted just before deadlines and didn’t get any degree offers. She decided not to do a foundation but to take a gap year instead. She will be auditioning again this year (for degree and foundation acting courses only). She is planning to apply and submit her t...
