Re: Recall for major film
My daughter recently auditioned for a lead role in a huge film, we hear back from her agency to say that they like to check her availability between now and end of august ready for a callback. How long does it take to hear about your callback, its been a week? Personally, I would check with the age...

Re: Lesser known performing art 6th forms
I just wondered if anyone knew of any lesser known 6th form colleges that offer musical theatre courses equivalent to A levels? We know about the well known ones like Emil Dale, Arts Ed, Urdang, etc but my daughter is keen to not do academic A levels (at least not only A levels) and we want to look...

I came across this article, not sure how true it is, but it makes sense. It made me wonder if performing arts colleges have any classroom ventilation during classes.

Re: Has COVID changed your DC training/career plans?
My dd is currently in Year 11 and will be starting performing arts sixth form next year. To be honest this whole situation made me wonder if this is the right path for her to take. She is doing well at school and could take an academic career path if she wanted to. I have always been supportive and ...

Re: Performing arts 6th form colleges
Hi, we’re looking for colleges that offer the BTEC musical theatre equivalent to 3 A levels for my DD who is currently in year 10. We have a couple of local ones that have a good reputation but want to spend the near year and half looking at a few others as well. Am open to my DD leaving home if it...

Re: Youth a Production cost advice
From what I understand they normally charge £70-75. I personally wouldn’t want to pay more than that.

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry
Emil Dale Academy - Does anyone know - If you aren’t recalled for interview at the end of the degree audition does this mean you’re not likely to be offered a place?? I am sure they said that it didn't mean you weren't going to be offered something if you weren't recalled on the day. But I maybe wr...

Re: EDSA (Emil Dale) Cambridge - any good?
Hi there, My DD (12) is going to do a trial class/audition at EDSA Cambridge. She has professional aspirations, so is seeking a new challenge from her current (un-auditioned) MT Saturday school. When DD told her current teacher she was auditioning, she was very much against it, saying Emil Dale doe...

Emil Dale Summer Workshop
Those who’s dd/ds’ have done the 1 day summer workshop at EDA, I was wondering if everyone is asked to sing their song of choice or do they only ask those they are interested in. Also, do they scout for potential students on the day for their courses and what happens after. Thank you

Re: Btec extended diplomas
Thanks Marissa, that’s very helpful. You’re right, it is ultimately their choice, and I strongly believe they should be the ones deciding what works best for them. Our duty as parents is to guide and support them, and as long as they have that, everything else will work out. X

Re: Btec extended diplomas
Thanks Marissa and dancemum. So let’s say they do a BA in MT, and at a later date they want to change direction (as to what, that’s a different matter). Does it matter if they did Btec or A levels beforehand or the Degree is the qualification that counts at that stage, as it’s the latest qualificati...

Re: Btec extended diplomas
Can someone clarify please how can doing A levels open up more doors, should a dc decide to change careers later on. What confuses me is if the Btec Extend diploma is equivalent to 3 A levels, what advantage is there on doing 3 A levels, apart from the academic side? From what I understand, the “equ...
