Re: A Chorus Line

Top Hat is also rumoured to be closing (on 24th October). But both are set for UK tours which'll be great for fans of the shows who aren't London-based :)

Re: The Globe Young Players -casting this summer

Dd not London and finishing on 5th July (she's at a private school). The competition for this is going to be insane. Dd would love to do it but we wouldn't be able to constantly keep going up to London if she got in, particularly in the intense rehearsal period mentioned. Good luck to all NAPMers wh...

Re: A&J management

No agencies are easy to get into, and A&J is one of the top agencies, particularly for children. They represent clients such as Holly Earl, who has been working consistently in film and TV since she was 3, and Eloise Webb, who starred in The Scapegoat alongside Matthew Rhys and Sheridan Smith an...

Re: Biography for Theatre Programme

That sounds perfect to me. You don't want to make it too long because there'll be loads of other cast members to squeeze in too, so I think this is a good length. It's personal, and fitting for a young child who has little experience. I should think you'll be bursting with pride when you see his nam...

Re: The Great Gatsby

Beautifully shot and acted- the production value was immense and it shows, and the stars lived up to their statuses and gave outstanding performances. But Baz Luhrmann has only translated the very basics of the book onto the big screen. The main focus of the film is on the tangles of the relationshi...

And she cast the three girls who alternate the role of 'Young Elizabeth' in The Audience in the West End (the play where Helen Mirren plays the Queen).

My Fair Lady- Kilworth House Theatre

Dd and I saw this last night and it was truly superb. We thoroughly enjoyed last year's Me and My Girl , and My Fair Lady did not disappoint. Helena Blackman, who was runner-up to Connie Fisher on How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? and played 'Maria' in Kilworth's The Sound of Music last year, w...

Re: Finding Neverland 2014

Dd managed to get on the school trip to see this show at the Curve and loved it! I do hope they keep the original leads. It's a shame they've taken so long to transfer it because the original boys they used will probably be too old/tall now. It reminds me of those poor Matildas in Stratford!

Thank you very much! Some excellent suggestions, we shall definitely follow them all up. Yet again the seemingly infinite knowledge of the people on this site has been exceedingly helpful :D

Re: Starting At Tring Park In September

Congratulations! My dd has a few friends who go there but they're in Year 8, 11 and 12. From what I've heard they really enjoy it there so I'm sure your dd will too!

Here's a response to the minister's article by a writer for The Independent. An interesting alternative viewpoint:

Re: What do you think?

I have no experience with StarNow. But it looks alright to me aside from some spelling errors and inconsistencies in capitalisation/italicisation. Oh and in the bio at the top you've said that you have a bubbly character twice.

Drama school monologues (contemporary)

Hello all Dd will be applying for various drama schools this academic year for 2014 entry, and is (already!) beginning to stress about monologues. She isn't overly worried about the Shakespeare yet, as there are less monologues to choose from on that score; it's more the contemporary (post-1980) mon...

Re: Musical Theatre Grade 8

Something from How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying would be brilliant- have a listen to the 2011 Broadway revival soundtrack and see what you think :)
