Re: shrek tour
It's rarely Stagecoach that gets the gigs here. Nor is it the theatre classes attached to the theatre a lot of the time. There's a larger (locally) performing arts school that can also provide chaperones and they tend often to provide the children if a whole bunch are needed (and are often approache...

Re: DD first screen test - help!
Definitely don't over rehearse as it makes it harder for the child to be redirected. If you wanted to practice I would suggest doing a little bit of getting her to try out doing it in different ways - ds2's successful auditions have always involved being asked to do something in a different way. I s...

Propellor - A Midsummer Night's Dream
Took 11 year old ds2 to see the Propeller production of A Midsummer Night's Dream last night. It was excellent - he was laughing so hard he couldn't keep still in his chair and I had tears streaming down my face. http://propeller.org.uk I highly recommend them - and superb if you want introduce chil...

Re: Do you need an agency......
I think it depends what you want to do. If you want film or TV then an agent is a must really. We're 4 hours from London, my son loves theatre and singing, not so bothered about film. He tends to hear about the west end touring shows anyway (they generally want to audition as many local kids as poss...

Re: What would you pay?
It's outrageous. I have been asked to do it a few times - write student essays I mean- (I just ignore - the first time I replied and received a mouthful of abuse in response). The business I run now provides the first stage of research for academics working in a particular area - occasionally I get ...

Re: Casting Workshops for young people
My son would definitely attend an under 13 workshop.

CVs for applying to agents?
Sorry if this is a basic question, I tried to search first. We're very new to all of this. My 10 year old son has had two professional auditions. He won one part and got through to the final round of the other but was told he was the wrong height (too small). Anyway he's keen to do more and I've sta...
