Re: Best time to apply for Sept 2020

When my DD first applied she went for early auditions and only got Foundation offers - she (in hindsight) felt she had auditioned too early. Second time round she went for February time and got offers within a week. She had been on Performers Pre Voc course and had wanted as much training as possibl...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

My daughter is on the Gap course at EDA and loving every minute of it - it is full on! I just wanted people to know that she was eligible for Universal Credit which has covered almost all of her housing costs and she was also eligible for income support which is tested on her income. It has made th...

Re: WEK vs Urdang (Saturday/Sunday School)

Depends on what style of dance, etc that your child prefers. If it were for my child, I'd choose Urdang but others will be different. Why would you choose Urdang? I said if for my DD I would - their dance training is very good and that's what my DD is most in to, particularly commercial. WEK as far...

Re: Spirit or Stagebox ?

Spirit seem to have more performing opportunities, such as West End Live, Move It,etc. Stagebox has got bigger and bigger over the years but equally good training. My DD has experience of both but is with neither now as she is at full time Performing Arts College, so feel free to Private Message if ...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

I think you should all email the colleges to ask where your DC's are on the funding/reserve list. My DD was waiting on funding from Performers as she was at top of list, emailed a couple of weekends ago and she got a call on the following Monday offering her a Dada. I think some times the office is ...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Last year the accommodation for Performers came out around now and I got on the phone immediately and went to see over Bank Holiday weekend. Ask the college for the Facebook page so that your children can join because on there they can post if anybody is moving out of accommodation - same on Instagr...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Things are definitely moving at Performers. DS had letter today asking if he still wants to be on the reserve list for DaDA and if he was happy with a non funded place then please could he send £1000 by 1st July!! He knows someone who was offered a DaDA at Performers last week. He's planning to pho...

Re: Pre-Vocational Performers College 2019

Thought I would start this thread to see if anyone else’s DC is starting the Pre-Vocational course at Performers this September? My DD is and is struggling to find a Freshers page anywhere yet to join, keen to find other people on the course and possibly link up with a few for when the accommodatio...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

My daughters friend (male) was offered a place at Performers straight away. He auditioned on 25th March. I know that less boys audition so that may make a difference. Good luck to you DC x My DD is currently on Performers Pre Voc - she auditioned on March 28th for 3 year course - thankfully offered...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

If anyone knows of any houses/rooms becoming available from September in Corringham (for Performers) would be fab to know in advance as I’m not looking forward to the manic time when the accommodation info arrives! If your DD is under 18 they will recommend she goes in to a Host Family - they won't...
