Re: London college of music

Hi Bop2thetop

Yes please PM me. My dd was in Fiddler on the roof but I saw rags too and thought it was excellent.

Re: London college of music

Hi all My dd is in final year at LCM and she'd thoroughly recommend it. They have just had their showcase at Soho Theatre so difficult to say how successful everyone will be with agents. There were plenty there and I know some people have several offers already. It's a fairly new course and definitel...

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018

Hi Mariapanayi Agree with suggestions for MT courses with less dance (we were in the same boat 3 years ago). Try GSA, Mountview, Central and London College of Music. My DD is at London College of Music at the moment. She loves it and is very impressed with the standard of teaching. Central and LCM w...

Re: Sixth Form and future training when?

Another few that are covered with the student loan and worth considering are Central, London College of Music and Trinity Laban. Also maybe worth a look is Chichester Uni. They may not be seen as high as Arts Ed and GSA but teaching standards are very high (even some of the same teachers) and they s...

Re: London College of Music or Chichester Triple Threat

Hi My DD is at LCM just finishing second year there. (3 year BA rather than 4 year). She picked it over Chichester and feels it was the right choice for her. She is very happy with the course and would say that most of them absolutely love it. The contact hours are quite high for a university, but I...

Re: Query on performing arts degree costs

Just to add 3 more on the 'borrow £9000 list' are London College of Music (UCAS), Central (UCAS), and Royal Conservatoire of scotland (CUCAS)

Re: The Creative Academy

Don't know much about them, but I know the BA is validated by London College of Music. They do perform there too, including in the graduate showcase with some of the singers and musicians.

Re: RADA Foundation- or Rose Bruford for drama?

I would also go for either Rose Bruford or GSA as a foundation is no guarantee (although RADA is tempting). I do know someone who has done well from the Arts Ed Foundation, but have heard today that he is the only one to get a place at GSA, with only 5 of them being offered the Arts Ed BA. Not sure ...

Re: gsa summer school MT

Yes my DD did the acting week and the MT audition practice week. She loved them both and found them really useful. They were good value too compared to many of the others as the on site accommodation was very reasonable. Also an option to see a west end show one night. Definitely recommended. :D

Re: Auditioning for 2016

Hi Lindy My dd had the same in last years drama school auditions (she was in The Vortex with YMT too). She felt her first auditions for GSA and Mountview went really well, but still had a no. I agree they all seem to look for different things as she had offers from Italia Conti and LCM and a recall ...

Re: How important is it to go to an 'accredited' school?

So agree with you. I feel almost an expert on the subject after going through the audition process with my DD last year! I believe the deal with spotlight is that only graduates from DramaUK/CDET colleges can join the 'graduate' programme, but the others can join the normal spotlight which is slight...

Re: How important is it to go to an 'accredited' school?

My DD is at LCM at the moment and is more than happy with the standard of the course. It is hard to tell from a fairly new course what the chances of getting a good agent and work are, but they have recently had someone in The Book of Mormon and the leads in pantos and European tours. I believe they...
